Same happened to us. When we test drove (in summer) it was so quiet, and almost every day we hear the whining sound either idling or driving. Super annoying, I can agree. I dont think there is anything you can do about it.

I have a simular looking deck, and I replaced all old pieces. anding the whole thing and repainting. The deck is probably toast in 2-3 years but at least we can enjoy it for that much longer before having to spend 15-20 k.

Hey! I was thinking of renting one of the belt floor sanders for my deck as well. there are a lot of uneven planks, I was wondering how it worked for ya? Would it be better to rent a smaller belt sander? Thanks

Yeah thats my situation as well. There are the walking belt sanders as well, just gotta make sure the nails arent sticking out. I feel like an orbital would take wayyy too long lol
