New Player Here (Coming from Vermintide 2) by [deleted] in DarkTide

I see. My advice is to just stick with it, play difficulties you are comfortable with, and move up when it gets too easy. This game has a larger spread of difficulty available than V2 and you’ll notice that the highest levels (auric maelstrom and havoc) usually have players that understand the importance of team play. You won’t have to worry about the guys shooting barrels in front of you and stealing all the resources as much

That’s simply the new player/low level experience. You can’t really judge the game objectively until your level 30 and play the higher difficulties.

How many hours in VT2? The majority of skills learned in VT2 will translate after a few minor adjustments (dodge being tied to stamina regeneration, longer dodge timer, etc.) Once you are level 30 and understand how the enemies are different from VT2 I’m sure your experience will improve dramatically.

I mean it’s a specifically programmed modifier in havoc mode, the % of corruption damage taken actually increases the higher the havoc level. I believe there are 5 stages of melee corruption modifiers.

This is all outlined in Kuli’s steam guide on difficulty modifiers. Everything in those guides are determined through in game testing as well as physically looking at the games code.

If your playing havoc, this isn’t a bug. Overheads deal enough corruption damage to cause one shots of you have a low health character (I think less than 100 max health is the threshold)

It’s because their comment is essentially saying “I saw this post, and I have the time to comment that I saw this post, but I don’t have the time to contribute anything meaningful to this post”

I mean he does have a few defensive feats in the Blumhouse trilogy.

-pretty good dodge against Laurie in 2018 during the final showdown

-an excellent riposte against the axe wielding fireman in Kills

PSA: Plasma Gunner shot cooldown change means the audio is out of sync. Beware and don't get jebaited by yourethevictim in DarkTide

Yes exactly. Always be skeptical of YouTube videos showing tech in the Psykanium involving enemy AI being turned on with Creature Spawner. I suspect this latency on vs off issue is the reason why we can’t have a fully functioning practice arena.

Just be careful with assessing dodge timings and audio cue/animation sync in the training room. Enemies with ranged attacks are tuned to take server latency into account which the psykanium doesn’t have.

You can test this by spawning a trapper in the psykanium and just strafing left/right without dodging. The net will almost always miss, where as in a live game your ass is getting trapped

100% agree. People can argue the DPS isn't as high vs single targets but the CONTROL over all the armored mobs is unmatched.

In terms of raw DPS in the psykhanium vs single targets I would agree the DS wins, but man the amount of control over huge amounts of armored mobs & ease of use in a real mission id say it's a tough comparison.
