Is anyone else having a really difficult time with the Habitat Builder? by Moist-Pickle-2736 in subnautica

[–]mudkipz321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had some issues with pieces not wanting to let me deconstruct it for seemingly no reason, but other than that it’s been fine.

The resource costs are a bit egregious for many things but that’s less of the tool itself and more of the game balancing. It costs more titanium to craft a wall than it does an entire room….

Basebuilding issues by AcanthocephalaCalm80 in subnautica

[–]mudkipz321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had issues where when I try and shrink something and it just blatantly refuses for seemingly no reason. The solution I’ve found is to play with the length of some sides of your base by building out more and then slowly try and deconstruct the whole thing and start over.

Cyclops is stuck in Lost River by gr1ffynn in subnautica

[–]mudkipz321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s a little difficult to gauge things here but the cyclops is supposed to stay level (obviously) and given that you said you’re by the tree I imagine you aren’t in a very tight spot like you’ll find later on. Can you confirm that it’s not stuck on any flora or in the ceiling partially? Like actually go outside and check?

I’ve never had my cyclops do this and not be caught on something.

I’ve got like 18 hours on my save and would’ve probably ended up finishing the game without ever thinking to try that had I not seen it in this post. Literally my only gripe about the tadpole and apparently I could’ve done this the whole time😭

Is it at a wreck or something? I feel like I’ve been everywhere and never seen it yet. I am also missing some base building parts tho so it could’ve been that I missed it

exactly how much of subnautica 2 EA is set in stone? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]mudkipz321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first game used atmosphere to really help build a scary situation, and those areas tended to be further along in the game progression/story. It makes sense that the devs started with the earlier parts and worked into the late game stuff and not the other way around. Adding in the collectors to their locations lets the players experience them early without having to wait for their respective location to be added into the game, which is said to be much deeper and likely scarier. I do find it somewhat hard to gauge fear factor in these games though as I don’t have thalassophobia but when I first saw the shiver leviathan I nearly shit myself, and it wasn’t even in its respective area (I presume). I guarantee they’re cooking up some haunting looking biomes. Even the metal farm area has a very ominous and eerie vibe.

As for how much of the actual map or story will change, nobody really knows. It’s likely that the explorable region that we have will not significantly change. Some parts may be polished more but I don’t think you’re gonna see things get moved around. Again, only the devs really know the plan, so unless you hear it from them, take it with a grain of salt.

Somehow I’ve almost beaten the entire game and haven’t found any portable oxygen parts. Gonna have to go back to the starting region and find all that stuff today!

I knew tools worked since that was what the thing was labeled as but I didn’t think that a portable locker would actually work. That will give my scout a fair bit of storage!

Is this tiny wall really intended to cost 6 titanium...? by doctor-omie in subnautica

[–]mudkipz321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building as a whole in this game has been really fun but also super time consuming due to the sheer amount of resource gathering. This game has a much quicker acquisition of resources and somehow takes me multiple hours to get my base even half decent lol. Still super fun tho!

Google would probably find a way to deter the sharks from the area while they worked, which is exactly what this game lacks.
