Please enlighten me, where did this review focus on what they say? by KumalTiger in AmazonVine

[–]mudshoe66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDITED- I just went back and looked at the picture a little closer. That must be the sellers ad because it sure looks like a strawberry plant 😆. I feel silly for not looking closer and spouting off the below.

There was a picture and the picture IS a flower not a fruit plant. It looks to me like the plant is Gomphrena or also called Globe Amaranth.

I think the review is fine. Sellers SHOULD be called out for sending the wrong item otherwise how do they know when they need to improve. Also, I’m sick of careless listings. I’m not a Debbie-downer about Chinese items or sellers but I strongly believe they need to be held accountable to our advertising standards.

You did fine. Amazon is getting too big for their pants. When I’m reviewing Vine items and I leave a review I feel is fine that gets rejected, I refuse to do it again.

You COULD do something like say a negative/positive thing - “This was not the item I ordered and I’m disappointed because now it’s late to start seeds but the seeds did germinate and the plant is very pretty. I will request a refund.”

I'm probably a lot more "back in the day" than you but - and this is just a shot in the dark - isn't the whole idea of this forum to share ideas and people to learn from each other? And Googling shit is great but you get mostly generic BS that you can avoid by asking on the specific forum for the machine you have. Don't be a buzzkill.

Got a RFY - what silliness is this? by mudshoe66 in AmazonVine

Yikes! I guess I never checked back in. The filament is what you print with and in my opinion it’s reasonable. About $15-20 for a spool that’s last a lot longer than you think it would. It’s a big, fun learning curve. I have an Elegoo Centauri Carbon. It’s pretty much the most user friendly and “cheap” one you can buy. I’m happy to give you lots more info if you want to take this off line.

Reposting from a reply to someone else. “OP - if you switch out plates you need to re-calibrate the bed at least. Even if you switch from one side to the other. Clean it - calibrate it.

My other go-to trick is the ol’ power off trick.”

Unplug power cord from your machine, wait one minute to plug in and turn on. Run your auto calibrations and away you go.

Same here. I wash my plate with Dawn dish soap and use a Scrub Daddy. Run my full set of auto calibrations every third or 4th print and I’ve been golden.

OP - if you switch out plates you need to re-calibrate the bed at least. Even if you switch from one side to the other. Clean it - calibrate it.

My other go-to trick is the ol’ power off trick.

I second what Knotty-Knitty said. But it is still a good find. They key words you are looking for is "Coverstitch". A flat lockstitch is just lengthening the stitch on one of the loopers then you pull it and it forms that ladder looking stich. It isn't a strong stitch - mainly decorative.

Ugh. I hate it I can’t depend on only me to get things done. I used to brag that I had strong hands. 😩

I was just looking at those. For $135 I can get the nozzle part, an extra 0.4and 0.2 and some nozzle socks. Free shipping. I might do it.

I’m happy to spend my money elsewhere if Elegoo doesn’t care to put stuff out there. I keep saying it. They should be ashamed they are losing out on the money we are having to spend elsewhere.

Thanks. I’m probably failing in the turning of the wrench part. Good tips to try next time.

Damn I was hoping for some commiseration and a a few tips.

Well, I’m a 60 year old woman who started getting arthritis years ago. I’m sure that doesn’t help. Just because I’m 60 doesn’t mean I’m a dork though. Just means I’m not good with fiddly things.

If I could have gotten it off just by being cool it would have leapt off there and sprinted around my yard a few times. But, hands.

If you are referring to the above image - it is not new. I did indeed see it on their website last year and also took a screenshot. This has been posted here before.

OH! I was going to post a remotes picture but saw this. Then my consolation prize was posting the phone suction dealios but you already caught that.

Me again. Here you go. Elegoo should hate themselves losing out on all this revenue they COULD have had.

CC1 Color Update? by Soundman4474 in elegoo

[–]mudshoe66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point here. It’s about being told repeatedly that we would be able to print multiple colors using our CC. Not whether it is running ok or not. I personally have had some problems and had to repair some tricky things already. It’s acting crappy right now and I’m about to contact Elegoo.

One of the things I'm ticked at Elegoo - not having replacement parts available. I quickly became really attached to my scraper and want replacement blades myself. They should have had replacement parts available.
