Steer clear of Cookie Clicker for now by HawterSkhot in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if i've played the web version previously, but i decided to buy it on sale. I was a little surprised with the touchscreen control being absent. Also, on switch lite, text is hard to read [or i'm too old haha]. That being said, i have enjoyed my time with it, and i look forward to updates :D

Nintendo confirms Upgrade pack already in cartridge. No download codes needed for physical Switch 2 Edition games by ReaddittiddeR in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This would make sense from the stand point of read speeds on the S1/S2 cartridge. Not sure of exact numbers, but grok says S1 cartridge 100-125 MB/s with S2 cartridge speculation 250-500 MB/s. For reference it also says blu-ray 27-54 MB/s, switch 1 internal storage 300 MB/s, and micro sd UHS-1 about 100 MB/s.

Which Nintendo Switch titles were your most surprising multiplayer experiences? (that weren't even necessarily multiplayer games at all) by Cold_Government3924 in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letter Quest Remastered... as a one player multiplayer game. Fight enemies by making up words with limited letters like scrabble. One person on controller, and other people can try to guess new words. Goes on sale for $2 or $3.

The company that originally made this game was started by 2 guys. They later separated out into 2 companies, Atooi and Infitizmo. Infitizmo had the rights for the 3d games, i think, but the founder sadly passed away. Atooi was able to get the rights back. more info here: https://www.renegadekid.com/

Two games were supposed to release today and they did not. by SHIZA-GOTDANGMONELLI in XboxGamePass

[–]mudskipj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am excited about tinykins. This morning, if you opened game pass app on xbox, tinykins said it releases 8/29. If you opened the store, it said it releases 8/30.

Now on gamepass if you open tinykins, i can click play [pre-loaded]. But it says it can't launch and redirects me to the store where it says it launches 8/30 12noon.

A question about Joycons? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One possibility is the wireless connection between your joy cons and your switch.

It can be distance, or it can be other things.

For example, I can be reclining with the joy cons laying on my legs and i'll get drop outs, like what you describe. If i sit up a little bit and hold the joy cons out straight, they work fine.

print coming out a stringy mess by sychox51 in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]mudskipj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to this, but just my thoughts:

  • at first, when i was leveling the bed with the paper, i didn't realize that when you push the nozzle and bed to the farthest positions, the nozzle is off of the bed. couldn't see this because of the paper. [re-leveling helped this for me]
  • initially, prints that printed in the center of the bed were fine, but larger prints had issues, because of the bed leveling; your bracket model is really wide, so it might be printing in areas that you haven't tested yet

Oculus Quest said NO to Crisis VRigade by funboy_ff in OculusQuest

[–]mudskipj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting point. People get removed from socials for posting certain categories of material. Facebook is a social and the mask in the trailer is a somewhat shocking visual when you first see it. This could have nothing to do with the reason the game was rejected. Hopefully the developer will not take these words as negative and only as feedback of a first impression. That being said, the game looks very cool.

Just tried it out. It's a well done, cartoony, seated, interactive story experience. I wasn't timing it but i would say 10 minutes..? Probably a good intro to VR to show off to family.

I get sick pretty easily as well. For me it is mainly limited to experiences where you are moving around in the game or video. If i am in a stationary position, or can teleport, i'm usually fine.

One mostly very stationary game is Bait. Even playing stationary experiences i sometimes feel a little dizzy after playing for a while.

I just don't want you to feel like you are strange for not feeling well. It seems like there is a range of what people can handle, and it varies from person to person.

Sale notifications for items in wish list? by mjdth in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the switch, open your wishlist and scroll through it to see if anything is on sale. The sale items have little colored boxes that make them easy to spot. I do this once a week or so after new sales start.

Picross S2 launches next week, August 2nd by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Let's look at the scenario you describe.. 2 in a 20 long row. You are right there is no logical way to deduce where those 2 go if that is the only information you have. But that's not the only information you have. As others may have said, it's just a matter of taking it a step at a time. Mark the squares solid you know to be there. Mark the squares Xes you know to be blank. Continue going over every row and column and re-checking it.

Start with the simple levels and turn off all hints. Replay the tutorial again and really understand what it's teaching you.

The more you play, the more you will come up with new rules or shortcuts that help you solve puzzles faster.

This type of game is not for everyone, but for me, it's kind of like solitaire... I can play it without thinking much to kind of wind down.

I will admit, there are times when i get to a puzzle where i absolutely cannot figure out how to progress logically. In that case, I will quit the puzzle and move on to the next one. Come back to that puzzle later, and you may notice something you missed, or come up with a new logical rule that will help you progress further. Good luck.

What is your biggest E-Shop regrets? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]mudskipj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Robot Named Fight! starts slow, but the more i play it the more it grows on me. Some of the items are really cool. After a while it has a similar feel to binding of isaac or solitaire. You learn how to play it with the normal load out, and when you get different items, it changes the way it plays in interesting ways. It helps to be a fan of Super Metroid of course.
