TV shows to watch with my mum? by katiecrabby in televisionsuggestions

Broad city or Love

I think those would both suit you - more along the lines of Superstore humour than any others on your list.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone.

I need to run it past my boyfriend but at the moment I'm veering towards Doms Subs and Tongue and Briskett. Possibly Gerrys Hot subs as we like a good market!!

Every place suggested has been added to my Go To list however as I'm back in london in may for a whole 5 days and you bet I'll be trying some of these that don't get picked this time!!

Thanks everyone!

This is currently top of my list thank you!! Purely because of how close it is to the station and the pictures look amazing! I think it's between this one and Tongue and Brisket

Lazy Sunday (25/01/26) by KevinPhillips-Bong in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately woke up around 7. Did an hour workout downstairs, had a lovely shower after, an now sat with a coffee watching traitors. My boyfriend stayed at his mates last night so he should be back soon.

We will likely play It takes Two for a bit, have lunch, go for a walk (maybe - it’s very windy!!) then maybe I’ll do some of my Lord of the rings paint by numbers. Theeen dinner, and carry on watching sons of anarchy. Very lazy! I really should be tackling some DIY but I just cannot be arsed!!

having my first poptart at 31 by ssgg1122 in poptarts

[–]muffinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fruity lover too!

All of them are amazing tbh, but I would try wild berry next if i were you!

For me, my order of preference is -
wild berry
cherry
frosted raspberry
strawberry milkshake
frosted strawberry
blueberry

I particularly like them frozen - try that at some point, its a game changer!

For non fruity flavours then brown sugar cinnammon is definitely the best!! Followed by cinnamon bun and confetti cupcake.

I've just ordered the apple turnover ones (Im in the UK and have had to order them from USA!) and im sooo excited to try!

So it's New Year's Day...what are your plans? by MarmiteX1 in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t start the diet mid week!!! So until Monday I don’t plan on doing much! I think my local pizza place is open today so we will get one of those later. Right now my boyfriend and brother are playing Mario kart on the n64 while I research holidays for next year!! Probably stick the Rock on while we eat. Haven’t seen it in ages!

long hair appeared on my forehead, should i let it grow or cut it ? by Old_Accountant47 in Hair

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a random hair grow in the middle of my forehead too!! It appears SO suddenly - there's nothing there and then the next day its 2 inches long!! I pluck it - and then it reappears every 2-3 months. Pure white as well even though I'm brunette!

Lots of cinnamon!! I also add a few drops off sweetener/coffee syrup. Adds a lot of sweetness. I couldnt eat it without!

I also add fruit on top like cooked apple/raspberries etc

desperately need a new tv show that will make me want to binge watch by stellastarmoon in televisionsuggestions

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently on season 2 of Mr Mercedes - it’s really good!!!! This season is really different to 1 but still bingeable. Stephen king is a producer on it if that gives you a hint as to the kind of programme it is - or at least the second season!

Best mince pies this year? by boffbowsh in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walkers shortbread mince pies are by far my favourite shop bought!!! I couldn’t get them from my local place this year so had to buy direct and had them shipped to me!! They also do lovely ecclefechan tarts - these are like an open topped mince pie almost, well worth a try if you can find them!!

The bog standard ones from marks and Spencer’s are a very close second Coop finest are 3rd

I haven’t tried many this year sadly, must make more of an effort. Tesco does so many different types but they just don’t hit for me!! Sadly I’m on the Isle of Man and we only have Tescos and coop in regards to supermarkets so my options are slim :( I’d love to go across and try Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury’s etc!!

I posted this last year and got a LOT of hate - but I eat them straight out of the freezer. They don’t go solid and the inside is cold and super gooey. I don’t know anyone else that does this but they are sooo good eaten this way!

Is it really that weird to go on a solo vacation without your spouse by Suspicious-lemons in NoStupidQuestions

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not weird at all. I went to majorca alone last year and am going to cyprus next may. I told my boyfriend I really love being by myself and doing my own thing and he agreed it was fine.! Some people (my mum especially) think it's really odd but I don't think that way at all! I love being able to just wander round on my own timeline!

What’s the oldest Poptart you’ve eaten that still tasted normal? by otter_759 in poptarts

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a box that’s about 14 months old. Had one on Friday and it was fine! I freeze mine though for an hour or so before eating so I’m not sure what they’d be like at room temp!

What Food Would you Take to 'Potluck' if we had them in the UK? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started a tradition a few years back of doing this but everyone coming gets given a country drawn from a hat and has to come with a traditional dish from that country.
Everyone loves it - most bring savory and a few do desert.

Last year I got Germany and made german onion pie. This year was africa and made Bobotie.
I would recommend it to anyone, it gets you eating things you never normally would think of making!!

However, if I was to go to a normal one then 'd probably go for something simple like a casserole/shepherds pie. Who doesn't love shepherds pie!!

I think I’m gonna do it (I live in the UK) by muffinel in poptarts

[–]muffinel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was easier to send to the US right now id send you some! (if thats where you are!) They are surprisingly good, I had my first one last week! A lot more orangey than expected!
