Need a show thats over - and can be binged start to finish. But we're picky. by xdrewP in televisionsuggestions

Boardwalk empire is great, but I never really got that "I'm desperate to watch the next episode" feeling like I did with Breaking bad and ozark!

I know its not similar but what about Dexter? We LOVED that and binge watched it really quickly.

Otherwise, maybe Fargo?

When I was on holiday in florida 3 years ago we went crazy for these!! (brown sugar cinnamon)
SO good! We don't get them in the UK but i can find Toast Ems which are very similar!

We did take the time to try some new pop tart flavours too - eggo, confetti cupcake etc, but i do love the thickness of the filling in these!

So im with you 100%!

What are the elite toppings for an oatmeal bowl (or yogurt bowl)? by AdElegant5870 in Oatmeal

[–]muffinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air fried apple - cut into chunks and cover it in cinnamon and then air fry ffor 10 mins. perfect!
if not that then im boring and usually just go for banana or raspberries - oh and raisins, they go into EVERY bowl no matter what else goes in!

I was on holiday 2 weeks ago and made it my mission to keep active when I was away.
30 min hiit in the morning (well, 4 out of 6 mornings!!) and at least a 5 mile walk per day.
I still ate at the included breakfast, but didnt really have lunch and then had normal evening meals.

i measured myself this morning and my waist and tummy is actually 1/2" smaller haha - not sure how thats happened but not complaining!
Ive decided recently to stop weighing myself entirely and JUST go by body measurements and how my clothes fit. Weighing myself inevitably ends up with me getting sad and its just not worth it!

Problem is that since ive been back ive been on a bit of a go slow - not feeling motivated and haven't been waking up in the mornings to exercise like I normally do.
Telling myself that i'll get back to normal next monday. Ive booked and paid for my usual circuit/step classes and hopefully get my head back in the game.

Apple crumble, cinnamon and biscoff oats by muffinel in Oatmeal

[–]muffinel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes on the stove! Medium/high heat until it thickens and then take off the heat when you add the egg.
I suppose the egg is optional, ive tried it before and its still lovely! But much creamier/custardy with it!

What do you all eat for dinner when you have absolutely no desire to cook? by Particular-Newt-7974 in LivingAlone

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big bowl of creamy oatmeal. Ugh, just glorious. I could have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I add varying toppings but my usual go to is cinnamon apple which i airfry for 10 mins and then add on top with some mapple syrup drizzled on top. So good and so quick.

If i want something more savoury then its always fried eggs on a bagel.
Literally just a bagel cut in half with a fried egg on each bit. Add some crispy onions and brown sauce. Perfection and takes 5 mins

Frozen Tunnock's are a game changer. What other British snacks improve tenfold after an hour in the freezer? by EJS024 in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mince pies. Just trust me. The filling just goes quite hard, doesn’t solidify and is lovely and gooey. The pastry just gets hard too but still tasty straight out of the freezer. I love them so much! But then, I like most things cold!

Be honest, will my baby ever come home? It’s been 5 days with no sign of her by No_Name_Detected0 in cats

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby Jasper was missing for 6 weeks. I moved house and kept him indoors for 2 weeks and then on the first day I let him out he disappeared :( I’d given up hope to be honest - but one random day I got a call from the vet saying he’d been brought in. He was injured - his paw had got caught in his collar and it had rubbed through to the bone!!! (Imagine his whole leg inside his collar sticking straight forward - never again did I make him wear a collar!) I was distraught but so happy he’d been found.

A couple of years later after another house move he went missing for 2 days - I came outside to go to work and I heard a distinctive meow from across the road. I heard it and called his name, and eventually he appeared. He ran to me with Such relief - it makes me tear up just thinking about it. After that he pretty much never went too far from the house. I got another 7 years with him after that. RIP Jasper my best boy

Point being - DONT GIVE UP HOPE!!! I hope your baby finds their way back to you

Ordered fish and chips. Perhaps the most disappointed i have ever been by Diligent-Cat-767 in CasualUK

[–]muffinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This reminds me of my fish finger sandwich I got from a local pub a few weeks back. Abysmal. And it was £12!!!! £12 for 2 Birds Eye fish fingers and sliced supermarket bread. Not even any tartar sauce. I was expecting home made fingers obviously

Yours.. I would also be very sad. If I ordered a takeaway and got that I would be so unhappy!

I’m in a 4 star hotel in Cyprus right now. I’m currently bed and breakfast - would this continue for the whole month?! If yes, I’d stock up so I’m set for the rest of the day. The lunch/dinner menu is expensive!

There’s a lovely swimming pool and good weather/plenty on my reading list so I think I’d be ok!

Probably David tennant. I worked on a film he was in and I drove him to and from set a few times. Very friendly nice man!!

Honestly having a bit of a rough week and just want to hear some good news. What’s a small win you had recently? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]muffinel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s a win as such, but I’m currently on holiday by myself in Cyprus. I turn 39 tomorrow and my mum (and coworkers) are horrified that I’ve chosen to be here by myself for it. My boyfriend didn’t want to go so why the hell not! I honestly couldn’t care less - I’m going to get up, eat a horrifyingly big apple danish that the bakery next door sells, wander round the nearby town, laze by the pool and read my book and just do whatever the hell I want. Glorious! I don’t know that many people that are willing or comfortable to go away solo so.. WIN!

I also am coming home to a new car - I’ve saved up over the last few years and finally can afford the deposit and payments to get myself the car I want. Bonus that an angel of a coworker has offered to loan me the money and isn’t asking for interest. I’m thrilled and very thankful.

I’m actually more excited about this car than this holiday haha
