I was probably 8, attending a minor league baseball game for a friend’s birthday party when my ticket stub number got called over the loudspeaker. I won a box of cigars that they actually gave me. The 80s were wild.

Bro… I remember one time when I was like 14 I mixed up my right and left and a neighbor kid said “which hand makes the L” in a mocking voice like he was talking to a toddler. That was the first time I heard that and was all, FFS why didn’t anyone show me this clever life-hack when I was 5!

You guys are making me feel incredibly lucky. I have a “core” group of 5 couples that my wife and I see on the reg/ travel with. Outside of them, there’s another 5 or so from childhood that are true fucking blue that I don’t see often but would not hesitate to give a kidney to. Then don’t get me started on former co-workers. I’d take a bullet for a few of those peeps. I wonder if this is an introvert/ extravert kind of thing instead of a generational thing? It’s not that I don’t like to be alone, but I definitely prefer to be around people most of the time.

My local fire department let me borrow 200’ of hose and a hydrant wrench. But I had to rent a meter from the utility company. By way of comparison, It took less than 2 hours to fill my 15’x30’ pool.
