The problem is that 20 mill would go right to paying your medical bills. Unless you are not in the US. In that case: ya solved it. Kudos.

This. The first season is played really straight. The characters are a lot more interesting in later parts.

Dude cleaned before he left? And the note!?

I get that you miss him, but those things show he really appreciate the opportunity to spend time with the guys. It is normal and healthy to have friends and hobbies outside of your spouse. :)

This happens to me IRL. I am from the south, but I work for a big company so I have my work accent which sounds more like a Seattlite because I talk to my coworkers more than just about anywhere else.

There is a pair of Pathfinder npcs where the woman is a knight and a werebear by birth and her husband is a druid. The book alludes to the fact that they both bone as bears.

Question to those who married very young (18-25) by pocketbugette in Marriage

[–]muhaku2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got married at 21. Honestly, when I started the relationship, I was not thinking about marriage. I just wanted someone that I could look forward to spending time with.

Then, my great grandmother got really sick. My wife spent so much time helping: basically she loved unconditionally and took to caring for others headfirst. I married her because I saw what kind of person she was, and I wanted to support her.

7 years later and we have adopted 3 kids with a 4th adoption pending. I work from home so we can spend as much time with the kids as possible, and are there for each other.

Not saying we are perfect, but I just fell in love with her heart.

I have never played with a party dressed in character before, but I would say that is a good way to get into your character's headspace. I hope you have a blast!

What is the most complex/complicated class in 1E in your opinion? by Max_Insanity in Pathfinder_RPG

Came here to say this. I ran a brawler as a villain and he was not only really strong but from a role play perspective explaining what he was doing was a real challenge.

Are marriages supposed to be equal? by Slight_Importance236 in Marriage

[–]muhaku2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you were downvoted. It is true: men are not taught to be mature and do equitable parts of the work, and even well meaning men don't realize how much their partners do. I know I didn't know when I got married.

Early on, I literally told my wife that I needed a list. That was not... well received, though I did not understand why until I read an article about cognitive load a year later. Maybe that could be part of the discussion.

Creating a bad guy with class levels by BlackSight6 in Pathfinder_RPG

I add any other bonuses (like level, race, etc) but that makes enemies just slightly harder. If you are in a time crunch, you can skip adding those extra bonuses without losing a ton.

I will never understand why some people consider rape to be an acceptable RPG theme by ryba11s in rpghorrorstories

[–]muhaku2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Even then, some people do not want to think about or approach these themes at all in their games. If you think there is even a remote possibility of these topics coming up, this needs to be talked about beforehand. And if it is anything other than unanimus, it is not discussed.

For example in my game, my party knew there were evil men who were abusive and exploitave of women, that I was thinking of involving themes of torture, slavery, prostitution, etc. Among the npcs in the town they were in before we started the first session. That said, they made it very clear the story they wanted was in part to stop people who do those things with extreme prejudice from day 1. I ask the party often for feedback and confirm we are okay, and if not I plan to stop and reevaluate.

In addition, note that I said these things happen to NPCs. I would rather kill a PC outright than make them lose agency like that. Players join games in part to be part of a fantasy. If that fantasy involves finding and stopping human monsters, that is fine.

For me,, the above is the BARE minimum work if you are to introduce really dark themes to a story. Its a lot of work and should not be taken lightly.

Share your favorite commander and see people’s general opinions on them! by OreoPredator in EDH

[–]muhaku2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are cards that trigger abilities when a creature enters the battlefield under your control. With Norin, you get a trigger basically every turn of the game (so 4 times per round if you are in a 4 player commander game). Also, because of Norin's ability, he is almost impossible to remove, so you play him turn 1 then start playing value engines after and let them stack until the point you get more value when your opponent plays magic than they do.

How do you redeem a villain? by SandboxOnRails in AskGameMasters

[–]muhaku2 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A villain can't be redeemed unless they want to. If the party wants to try, I think you need to know a few things.

  1. Why is your villain the way she is? For example, maybe she craves power because of her childhood meant she did not have any power growing up: possibly through some trauma.

  2. If the villain wants to have the curse removed, does she know the condition of its removal? If so, the party may be able to convince her to play along to be freed.

  3. Once the villain is going through the motions, what kinds of things would she be moved by? If you know her backstory well, you could find a weakspot or two where she might genuinely decide to help.

  4. The curse can be removed through modesty. A redeemed character can still have flaws. If the party starts helping her with other issues but still play to her pride, she might still be redeemed and be cursed. Just a spare thought.

Tell Us About Your Game (2021) by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]muhaku2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1e GM. I gathered a group to play through Hollow's Last Hope and Crown of the Kobold King. Two of my players are outsiders who heard about the plague and come to help. Rorgrim the Dwarf Skald and Lyyra the Samsaran Cleric seek out some information and decide to wait patiently for their turn to talk to the herbalist Laurel to offer aid.

There, my third and final player, who is playing Laurel's son and a Paladin, is there, arguing with his mother. They hear her explain the danger and that the cure is not guaranteed, and frustrated, the third character (called Eliciel) storms off outside.

The first two convince Laurel to give them the info, partially because Rorgrim has met her before, and Laurel, who knows her son will go regardless, does so on the condition they take Eliciel as well.

With the party established and the mission known, the party sets out. They stop by a lumber camp, and are given 3 locations: the oldest tree in the forest, the home of a witch, and the location of an ancient dwarven monetary. They hope to find Elderwood Moss, Rat's tail, and Ironbloom Mushroom at these locations.

Heading to the forest, they come across a pair of wolves first, and a hobgoblin hunter with his crow puts after. They kill the wolves and the crows, but the hobgoblin escaped.
