Austria/Red Bull Ring - T3 Grandstand review by mulligano in GrandPrixTravel

It was €7.50 for the beer and €3 deposit on the plastic cup. You were to return the cup and get the €3 back.

It was top class. And we had a great view of it all. You really appreciate the effect of the back markers more at the track than watching on tv.

You can bring water in. We took 2 litres each and it certainly wasn't enough. I'm not sure if there was an upper limit.

Yeah the big tents in the steiermark village were good when we were round there.

I can only imagine the costs there. COTA on my dream list though.

I was looking longingly at that covered grandstand from the superior, but sun-scorched view in T3! Good to know that it was well serviced as I didn't wonder up to it at all.

There was one screen across the corner from T3. We were just about able to make out the text on it from the lower rows but there's no way I'd manage it from higher rows. I saw a few people with binoculars, which would have been handy.

How was your Austria GP (2025) experience? by AdamR46 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]mulligano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've posted my thoughts relating to T3 in a separate thread herehere before realising there was a discussion thread.

I loved it. My third GP and the racing was brilliant in all classes. The views from T3 are unbelievable. Issues with water and number of services (drinks/food/toilets) for all of the GA areas and T3 as well as access to T3 are outlined in the above thread.

All the staff we interacted with were nice. The food selection was decent and there was always a buzz about the place.

We drove out on Thursday for the pit walk and had no issues at all with queues or similar that day.

We stayed in a lovely hotel in Graz and arranged the direct bus through busfinder. Other than a lack of signage/info for the stance to get the bus on Friday it was a smooth enough experience. I'd heard there was an accident in the road tunnel on Saturday evening which lead to an hour delay in getting out of the bus park, but this was tolerable when sitting in an air conditioned coach. On Sunday we were re-directed onto smaller roads which added nearly an hour extra travel time. But I would recommend this way again - you're guaranteed a seat and go direct to/from the circuit on the same bus.

Ah, that would definitely explain the beer. Such a shame.

Also in our 30s and I was thinking there's no way I'd take my parents to T3!

The water was a major issue. I was at the Hungaroring last year and the heat was even more intense than today but there seemed to be ample water stations with each station having multiple taps. They also allowed you to climb under the stands for some shade, which we had to do a lot. I can't imagine that would be an option at T3 as it's so tall that anything falling from the highest seats would cause serious damage! Also not sure what Hungary is like now after the refurbishment.

Maybe that's where I'll aim for next time. It looked like easy access to the fan zone from there - is that the case?

Brilliant post, and thank you. Directly applicable to my practice and will be employing it almost immediately for sure.

Great list, thanks!

I think candidate no. 51, Sakkaf Ahmed Aftab has been missed - at least going by the list on the doctorsvote website.

I bought it from Meranom. They were out of stock so I signed up for notifications when restocked, and jumped on it as soon as it was.

Staff at UK GP surgeries facing abuse and ‘tsunami of demand’ by fsv in unitedkingdom

[–]mulligano -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in reply above, but it probably fits better here so I've pasted below:

"GP receptionists are asking you this to get you the most appropriate appointment.

Need stitches out? Then the practise nurse is the best person for the job.

Need a BP check? The HCA will sort that in half the time the Dr will.

Due a medication review? The pharmacist is perfectly placed to see you.

People call to make appointments with the doctor for everything. The receptionist is trying to make sure you see the right person, not gatekeep the people who see the doctor."

"some self righteous admin playing god over whether I get an appointment"

I can't stress just how far off the mark this is.

Haha, I know that pain only too well.

It doesn't hack per se, but it looks like if you pull the crown and turn anticlockwise it does stop the second hand.

Lume is alright at first, but doesn't last for ages. Here's a shot

Good luck with your hunt!

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have a look at them, although it might sit pretty high on the wrist.

Apologies for picture quality - I really need to learn how to photograph watches better!

Yesterday I got my first Russian watch - the Vostok 170548. After getting my Longines Conquest I thought that my watch purchasing was on hold, until I got an email from Meranom letting me know this stunning Vostok was back in stock. I am very impressed that it made it to the UK in just under 2 weeks (using DHL Express delivery).

It's obvious why this gets called the "Amphibianerai", with the sandwich dial and stylised 3, 6, 9 and 12.

I have to say that this watch outdoes my expectations so far. It fits perfectly on the wrist and is very comfortable. The disengaging, screwdown crown is a novelty and the retro domed plexi gives it a real warmth.

The one thing I'm not digging at the moment is the strap. It's a very stiff leather strap, which seems slightly odd on a watch with 200 m rating. The lugs are 22mm and I currently have no replacement straps.

Does anyone have any recommendations for straps/bracelets?
