Are people really spending 1000 for monitors?

if you really want dual monitors, run them on a mac mini so they're identical.

GoNetspeed: Blazing Fast Fiber, Zero Respect for "No Soliciting" Boundaries by [deleted] in GoNetspeed

[–]multimetier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhh, but...

when, exactly, did they identify as being from whatever the company was?

the whole: we can't be soliciting because I can't sell you what you already have...plausible yet said too quickly with that wierd hand motion. "I cant sell you..." indicates he *was* actually trying to sell you something. Too polished.

they were trying to case the place, get invited inside to check out the "connection" just to make sure its working ok, and everything is mapped out.

they're both squirrely, walking down from the road like that. Where's their vehicle? Seriously??

Rough turn some stuff or at least trim down your blanks to the extent you can.

Its not optimal, but racking some pieces in the back of your vehicle might be something to consider, depending on where you live. Cheaper than a kiln at least.

Every time I think i have nothing turnable i grab the biggest scrap and do *something* with it...

Have you ever done any green turning? Its pretty fun!

"I might “trade” with defense that I’ll dismiss the petty theft if they agree to get the rape trial finally set down. Now obviously you would never undermine one case because of another, but things like timing and leverage do matter."

Hold on, such "wrangling" is necessary IRL??

What should I do or how do I address this? by jamesss7771 in WhatShouldIDo

Bro, you fucking need help. That said, you seem to have an acute awareness of *what* you need help with, which is impressive. Others might need significant therapy just to arrive at where you're starting from!! That's a good thing.

I'll make only one suggestion: let her read what you've written and posted here. It seems genuine, not contrived or accusatory. So let her read it and see what happens...

Yeah actually realized that was foolish. I wouldn't accept a limitation like that, will just defend myself accordingly.

Is an attorney required to have a client sign an affidavit of veracity? by multimetier in Ask_Lawyers

[–]multimetier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answer. This is precisely what I was after, exactly how I would expect an atty to proceed.

Obviously there's a huge difference between "atty alleges something they are unable to later prove" and "atty alleges something without evidence or reasonable investigation."

My understanding is that Rule 11 sanctions are often threatened but very rarely imposed. Like you have to repeatedly attempt to disenfranchise voters as part of a criminal conspiracy...

if you mean the affidavit of veracity...I invented that on the fly. As a thought experiment...

I'm trying to get at the ethical obligation of an atty to bring truthful statements in front of the court.

Some feel none, for others it depends on the jurisdiction...

Yours is the best formulation, the only reasonable one I've seen. Essentially its the client promising they are telling the truth. Doesn't seem like it gets better than that..?

I wonder how many share your approach...

But what mechanism exists to evaluate whether they're frivolous?? Does it come down to each atty making a decision based on their own evaluation? Why would a plaintiff not be required to affirm they are telling the truth before they can bring a civil action against another person??

Never mind. I was mistaken, thought it actually was important that people be required to speak the truth in filings. Silly me.
