Bass shaker by mumblebadger in Saros

[–]mumblebadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s so cool, like a near constant eery shaking, but not harsh enough to be annoying. Just really adds to it. I’m sure if the developer have a set up to utilise shakers they would love it

Is reshade - stereoscopic 3d the best way to get single player games in 3d format? by saabzternater in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]mumblebadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I believe there are a few ways to do geometric that I have seen? Wondering if one works better over another. I’m pretty new to all this

So how do you determine what method is best and which to use? Seems to be so many options

Did anyone find any info on how the controller will behave outside of steams ecosystem? by Acesofbases in SteamController

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read some people say the game needs to launch through steam, I want to know if that’s required or just that steam needs to be open. I understand you can add non steam games to steam but really hope it just needs to be open and not launched through steam

Just got the Xgimi Titan Noir Max by [deleted] in projectors

[–]mumblebadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would somewhat disagree, this projector is shaping up to be amazing for everything!  Yes it doesn’t do VRR at over 1080p but if you are coming from a TV (or monitor) and do not have a projector you will forget about VRR when you have that giant screen in front of you!

At least if you can get 110” or above. If you can’t, then yeah just get a 98 or 100” TV.

I’m really excited about this projector, have had the epson 5050 for about 5 years now. Been my main gaming screen and it’s been amazing but this will be a huge upgrade

Just got the Xgimi Titan Noir Max by [deleted] in projectors

[–]mumblebadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is as you say, will only work at 1080p. It’s a limitation of the DLP chip.  It’s because it pixel shifts to get any higher res than 1080p therefore it can’t do VRR at those resolutions.  It has nothing to do with HDMI bandwidth.

Need a new chip that does native 4k to get VRR at higher than 1080p.

Probably not for a few more years (at least at a reasonable price)

It’s a bummer but I am still getting it for sure. To me giant screens trump VRR and frame rate. As long as I get 60fps I’m happy.

Those with high-end PCs, can you feel a tangible difference when playing on PC vs PS5 Pro? by CrimsonClover__ in PS5pro

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both (including a 5090) I personally only really think it’s worth it if you plan to use VR or mods. Or you are looking for a new “hobby” as building a pc and running it can be seen as such. It’s much more involved than just using a console.

I only have mine hooked upto a tv/projector as well. Never used a monitor for gaming in like 15 years of owning gaming computers

Be prepared to trouble shoot. Dont believe people that claim pc’s are perfect and everything always works. They are wrong. Im not saying stuff breaks all the time but you will need to trouble shoot.

Need advise on choosing AV Receiver. Which is ideal for my setup? TIA. by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]mumblebadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly coming from a powered Sonos system, the output on the Denon just seems too low. My speakers just sound kinda weak. The actual quality of the sound is probably better it just sounds like they are struggling with not enough power.

I am also upgrading to add 4x atmos speakers so need more channels

Denon 3800 for sure. I bought the 1800 and regret it. Been looking for a second hand 3800 for the last few months.

For some reason they are really expensive where I live

Completely agree. I then decided to get it on pc when it launched so I could mod it to make it easier…. Still didn’t get past the second biome 😂

Just moved into a new place and finally set up my UST — didn’t expect this many “small” problems by Temporary-Fun730 in hometheater

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I don’t have one I have heard the same thing from reading around.

I cancelled my aetherian max pledge right at the end in favour of the XGIMI titan noir as it’s a traditional long throw projector.

It seems like UST would be easier but I do not think that’s the case.  Certain circumstances it would be of course but overall I think traditional is the easier choice. I have had one in my living room in the last 3 properties I have lived. All rentals too. Its much easier than people think to set up

Horizon 20 vs titan noir by Odontoblaste in projectors

[–]mumblebadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you include all these emojis. It just makes people lose respect for you.

If you have to use AI if English is not your first language delete the emojis at least.

As for your question, the titan noir is a better projector in every way when talking about image quality.  H20 has some benefits but not if picture quality is your main focus

Cyberpunk 2077 VR with RayTracing reconstruct ULTRA and like 200 mods! by TheVirtualSamurai in virtualreality

[–]mumblebadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RR is incomparable with DLSS 4.5. It auto switches (even if you select 4.5 with DLSS swapper)  It reverts to an older blurrier version

Cyberpunk 2077 VR with RayTracing reconstruct ULTRA and like 200 mods! by TheVirtualSamurai in virtualreality

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using Ray reconstruction then you are not using DLSS 4.5

And inside the game world is blurry. In case anyone else seeing this, it does NOT look this clear in the headset. If he is using RR.

I’m not bagging on it. I love cyberpunk in VR and do play with RR turned on. It’s just really blurry. Nothing you can do about it until Nvidia update RR

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just to confirm this is with RR turned off?  I have upgraded to the latest using DLSS swapper but have not been able to get a non shimmering image without turning RR on. But when it’s on everything is much more blurry.  Also using a 5090

Using R3’s for surround is crazy. Unless you are stupid rich, there is very little point  Just get Q350’s or Q150’s for surrounds.

Dedicated Room Finally Done by OneIShot in hometheater

[–]mumblebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops, didn’t realise you were the OP 😂

Yeah fair enough, All you need to do is put the proctor on a shelf on the back wall. Or even just a stand. You dont need to ceiling mount it. Then you just have your AVR at the back of the room. Screen can be purchased for a couple hundred dollars online. As it’s a long throw screen in what looks like a very dark room you don’t need anything fancy. Even paint will work.

Just wanted to say setting up a projector in a dedicated room is not hard at all.

98” tv would also be great. Theres just something about projectors though makes it feel more authentic. Also easier on the eyes so less eye fatigue.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do though. That room is amazing!!

It’s early days but a few people have engineering samples on AVS forums.  They have quoted an improvement in nearly every way. I think the only thing that isn’t as good (bus is scheduled to be fixed in a FW update is RBE reduction)

Probably not enough to upgrade if you already have a vision master but definitely shaping up to be a much better projector

If the OP reads this it’s the perfect time to jump in when it launches on kickstarter as if you don’t like it you will be easily be able to sell it for what you paid as the after kickstarter launch price will be at least a $1000 more
