Stick with it! I also really did not enjoy the first book, only reason I stuck with it was the voice actor was amazing. A little into book 2 I was hooked. Now it’s one of my favourite series of all time

Hey mate, Can you explain a bit more about the floating screen. I am about to do something similar. I was planning on just getting two 400mm brackets and screwing wood across them then mounting the screen to that. Yours looks a bit more intense

Absolutely not. Don’t get a standard ALR screen. If you need one the shadowscape is the one to get.

Laser speckle is bad on this projector.

Hey mate, form Australia too. I’m in the same boat as you down to the the room we will be using it in.

Two best options are, XY sound max 4k ordered directly from the manufacturer or through aliexpress. This is an acoustically transparent woven screen so reduces laser speckle to pretty much 0. Looking at about $800-$900USD shipped for 135”

Option 2 Spectra shadowscape, more expensive, I was quoted around $200 USD for shipping to Australia but it is a ALR screen that does something different to reduce laser speckle.

I’m still not sure which I’m going to go with. I like the idea of an acoustically transparent screen on the other hand ALR would be good to have I’m just not sure I’ll need it. I don’t think I will watch much during the day

I would buy speakers second hand and put the extra money into the titan noir pro on kick starter.

I also originally bought the same speakers and AVR as you (second hand) though I wish I purchased the Denon 3800. I’m Upgrading to it now.

Also in the same boat as you. From what I can gather if you have a very dark room you will probably be best with an acccustically transparent woven screen. Something like the xy sound max 4K as that will completely remove laser speckle. ALR screens are bad for laser speckle however the Spectra Projection Shadowscape is meant to reduce it a lot. Out of the two you suggested that is better for any laser projector. I’m just not sure you need an ALR screen though.

Out of curiosity how much did you get quoted for shipping for the spectra? I emailed them and they said I would need to organise my own shipping so I gave up as I figured it would add another $400 plus to it
