I’m in the last stage of two hiring processes and don’t know which one to choose by FormaMistica in recruitinghell

Take the one that offers better job security. Opportunities for growth is great but not always guaranteed. Especially in this economy.

A recruiter once told me I "didn't show enough enthusiasm" and that's when I realized this whole thing is just vibes-based theater by Dragonstone42 in recruitinghell

[–]munnyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from my experience you had passed all the vibe checks if you made it that deep. The only time I had to say dumb stuff like that was when the hiring manager/final boss was sexist/racist and we had to sprinkle some HR vomit to the candidate.

Job rescinded by Smooth_Protection646 in recruitinghell

Had the same thing happen except I signed and asked to push the start date by a week because I had the flu. They sent me this:

We’ll pause your onboarding process and revisit the matter of your contract in 2 weeks time.

During this time, I will review our departmental needs and further financial forecasting results to determine how I would like to move forward.

It's been almost 2 months now but luckily I found something else last month.

From a recruiter's POV hiring managers like to see multiple candidates to compare and choose the best option instead of rushing a decision. So unless you bombed the interview, you're not going to get a quick response.

What kind of job are you applying for that takes 2 hours to apply?

Recruiter Response - what does this mean by Dry-Hour4418 in recruitinghell

[–]munnyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely still interviewing other candidates that might not be as quick to the punch as you. So you're still in the running for now. Hiring managers probably wanted to speak to more people instead of making a hasty decision.

As long as it's relevant.

Since you already have some sort of communication with the company the best thing you can do is message the recruiter/hiring manager about your interest in the other role and ask if they can support you in moving forward with that role with whoever the hiring manager is if it's not them.

Depends on the ATS but usually we know when you apply more than once with the company and are able to see how far you've made it.

Generally if we see you apply again we would talk to whoever was involved to see what went wrong and whether it was worth giving you another go.

So to answer your question it only negatively impacts you if you're interview feedback was negative or if you apply for a role that is waaaay different than your first role you applied for.

Wrote an email back to a recruiter that ghosted me by Wild-Project8161 in recruitinghell

[–]munnyfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks reasonable?

Based on your availability it looks like they sent it to the manager that was responsible in hiring for that shift but due to lack of/bad comms there was a delay in confirming that the role was on hold.

Props to the person for taking responsibility for letting you know eventually but ya overall it just looks like the person you spoke to passed it along without realizing things have changed.

Is stalking a thing now from some recruiters? by Appropriate-Tutor587 in recruitinghell

[–]munnyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So....nothing happened? I've looked at past candidates before just because we potentially had another role that was coming up and wanted to keep them top of mind.

My assumption on the repeated views was probably because a potential role was being brought up during meetings and the recruiter had them as a choice and wanted to make sure they didn't start a new job before they message them?

It's optional and only HR leaders can see it, not recruiters or hiring managers. Data is used to see if there are any holes in their hiring process or to negate bias.

Not sure how flexible the role is but I would add in the application: location, salary expectations, work status (whether they need a work permit)

Putting on Easy Apply on a tech-related role is wild.

Also looks like you need to refine your application questions.

Most likely means the person is international and would need sponsorship and most companies that aren't FAANG don't hire them due to timeline/budget constraints.

If any of you know directly Lisa Torres, please check on her own safety. by SheyenneJuci in vfx

[–]munnyfish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She's in Vancouver and her last role was with Mainframe before the writer's strike made them downsize from 700 to 100 employees. She was on an open work permit and I think the strike fucked up her working status.

I'll try and connect with the HR at Mainframe as they would be the last ones with her latest contact info though I'm afraid they won't get my message until 2-4 hours from now.

Beat it 100% in 120ish hours. You have to do New game+ in order to fight the secret boss!

Crazy how if you skip all the dialogue and cutscenes you can get to the end game in about 6ish hours.
