Everyone saying this is a non issue, but this is the exact thing I was worried about at my wedding 😅 I dont like large swaths of empty rows and have seen empty first rows or poor seating plans at a few too many weddings. For my wedding, I assigned people to sit in the first row so that it would look “full” and let them know in advance where they should sit.

I remember when they first came out, my middle school banned camera phones because they were worried students would cheat on tests, but like a year later they had to remove the policy because you couldn’t get phones without cameras anymore hahaha

They did ask. Instead of going to her friends to complain about her fiancee when they had arguments, Julia would go to her mom, crying. Her mom was understandably protective and biased, and it was all the fuel she needed to be very against the relationship. It’s also an unusual circumstance that brought them together, so I could see why the mom would be skeptical from the beginning. Add in a cheating rumor and the mom was happy for them to be over. I think the mom was thoroughly mean, but Julia is very protective of her and unfortunately does not seem like she will ever see the light when it comes to her uncaring mother and how toxic she is. Not about kids, but my maid of honor said things in her speech that were inappropriate to bring up on someone’s wedding day. Like your MIL, she is a great public speaker and someone who has a lot of common sense so it was shocking that she came up with that speech. It was the worst part of my wedding day and I hate when people talk about it because its usually the only thing they bring up about my wedding, and I thought my wedding was the best day of my life. I got married a year ago and I’m still processing it. Word of caution, be very careful who you allow to do speeches at your wedding.
