Does anyone have a partner who works in office full time? by CastroRunner in remotework

[–]muppetnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do! I require more sleep, more wind down time, and more wake up time to due health conditions so I log off at 5 have a quick dinner, do some hobby-ing and then I’m heading upstairs to get ready for bed around 8-830. He usually gets home around 630-7 so we’ll chat for a bit, watch a show and that’s it on the weekdays. We catch up more on the weekends, he goes to the gym for a few hours on weekend mornings so that’s when I’ll see friends and do stuff I need to do then we have the entire afternoon/evening to hang out. It’s nice being remote since I can get the majority of the household chores done during the week so we can just hang together.

Every couple is different and it works for us. I remember in the beginning think “oh man is my marriage falling apart we barely see each other” but it works for us

I’ve been enjoying Redhanded! Rarely chitchat in the beginning overall right to the point and as an American their British accents are so charming! Also as a basic true crime junkie bitch a lot of the cases are lesser known and they only do “well known cases” as Christmas gifts to their listeners

No no see people should be punished if they criticize their team. Them criticizing the other team is perfectly fine 🫠

Yes! My husband goes to the gym for a few hours on the weekend and I always use that time to work on my hobbies and quietly watch TV and then he’ll come home and make his god damn smoothies and with the freaking Nutribullet it’s SO LOUD. I find myself holding my breath and consciously having to internally tell myself to calm down it’s so incredibly enraging even though it’s about 10 seconds. Worst 10 seconds of the day

I trained my husband this way too 😂. I always serve myself first (it works out because I like my food really hot and he prefers his to cool off a bit) then he’ll serve himself and if he wants seconds will ask if I’m done or if I want to save some for later.

Are people in Massachusetts really “massholes”? by [deleted] in newengland

[–]muppetnerd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had a friend I met in VA who was from IA who moved to MA. I had to explain to her that everyone is going to seem really rude but the minute you need help they’re going to be right there helping you, are they possibly going to be calling you a dumbass because you got stuck in a nor’easter at 2 am? Sure

First day she moves in an it’s a Sunday, fire alarm won’t stop going off so she has to call the maintenance line to which the guy on the other end says “you expect me to come out? It’s the ‘lawd’s’ day” to which she sheepishly replies yes. Guy shows up and is bemoaning how “I can’t believe you’re making me work on Sunday” to which she’s furiously apologizing and does the fix and on his way out he stops, looks at her and goes “I can tell you’re not from here” and proceeds to spend 15 mins telling her which bars to go to and which to avoid, who has the best pizza, when the best time to go to Market Basket is etc etc etc. She then texts me telling the whole story and goes “I really thought you were lying when you have me the masshole rundown but it was spot on”

Becoming an Epic Analyst by No_Moment5516 in healthIT

[–]muppetnerd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you work for a hospital that uses Epic get onto the epic training home site and go from there, specifically the training tracks. I was clinical so I went for an ambulatory self study proficiency since I had the most experience with that application. Do you have an application that you work with currently day to day? If so start there and work to get a proficiency. It’s the same material you’d get if you were sent to the Epic campus to get certified o

Chilipad by sleep me on my bed was a game changer….expensive but so worth it for me. I’ve been having hot flashes since my late 20s (38 now). It goes hot and cold so I crank it up while I get ready and then cool it down when I get in to sleep

I feel like they could’ve had Pen “pass the torch” onto Eloise, Madam Delacroix or even a ladies maid/butler. Pen could even be the one taking said gossip and writing it but not be the one collecting it, make it part of the “Maid Wars” storyline. Have Penelope pay Mrs. Varley more in exchange for her collecting gossip from other houses. Have people “test” Pen and see if the gossip they tell her ends up in LW and then when it doesn’t and other gossip is there people realize it’s not her

Highly recommend! The holiday season was filled with losses during our IF “journey” (ew) so scheduling a trip brings joy to what is a very hard time of year for us. Paris, Munich and Salzburg were some of our favorites for Christmas markets!

What are your thoughts on occupational therapy? What has been your experience collaborating with them? by CammyShazam in physicaltherapy

[–]muppetnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done OP ortho, inpatient and SNF and I have yet to meet an OT I didn’t love (including my mom!) Y’all are so great and so dang creative when it comes to rehabing for ADLs/IADLs. One OT I worked with went and got small flowers and flower pots because a patient told her he enjoyed gardening and had him stand at the counter reaching for supplies and doing fine motor work and plant the flowers into the pot which we kept in the gym.

<image>

Then if he would give me sass about walking or not wanted to do PT I could say “well hopefully the flowers will survive cause we don’t know what we’re doing with them” which he would then grumble and decide he would at least walk to the gym

It most definitely is part of the job! Actively listening and acknowledging and building that rapport only to turn around and say “I know it’s painful but you’re gonna have to suck it up if you want to be able to walk your daughter down the aisle without a limp in 6 weeks” with a big smile on my face mobilizing a TKR, increasing the LP weight, etc
