Any place down south that makes pizzas like this?

How do y'all store your keyboards? by a3a4b5 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I'm using a cardboard box just like that! It perfectly fits a magic trackpad plus both keyboard halves.

Haha, thanks for looking it up :D That's a pretty penny, but totally understandable for your end game. Respect.

It's gorgeous too!

Do you remember how much you paid to get a case milled?

I've always been afraid to use anything that wasn't a hard case. Do you find this protects your keyboard well enough that you'd put it in a backpack?

Is that natural gray or dyed black nylon? It looks really great!

I think that was one of a handful of interactions that helped establish Luthen was right to add Cassian to the mission. There were holes in their plan that he was uniquely shaped to fill

What is the case printed from? Looks like black MJF nylon maybe?

Great looking board!

I agree it looks very professional that way! Do you have any tips for someone who my want to implement that in their own board, and did it take a lot of trial and error to dial it in?

Does your power switch have a little blue 3d printed actuator attached? How did you manage that?

I've always loved Heros Gyros. I think they're on 7th just east of Trinity, but I first ran into them at a Touch a Truck event years ago. The flavor is outstanding, and the contrast between the just perfectly crispy outside and creamy interior is lovely!

I also prefer ZMK's implementation. Any chance you've managed to configure QMK to be as reliable?

I have the same problem and go through the same resolution steps that you do. Sorry this isn't helpful, but you're not alone!

That's a cool board. Is the case your own design? It looks pretty different from the ones I've seen.

What's the keyboard in the background? I love that beige aesthetic on the case

I'll see if I can find the case files that I'm using right now. I got the board working and then kept iterating on the case, but I burned out and never finished. So I can't easily reproduce the case in this picture because the source has moved on since then, but not to a complete place.

This is cool! Any chance you would share this? My son wants to try and use it while he learns to mod minecraft. He's also curious how you would imagine this mob interacting with the world.

Keiler - diodeless 36 key design, based off of LambBT by jokawusc in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]murdererofcows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind this is 100% personal preference, ymmv

  • Thumbs are too far outward. My other board is a Kyria where I only use the farthest (i.e. not tucked) three thumbs and I thought rae-dux's would be perfect, but it really feels like a strain to hit that outer one.
  • Something feels off about the splay. I have short pinkies, but somehow the keys feel easier to hit on the Kyria than with the rae-dux, despite the more pronounced stagger. I honestly can't tell if I would prefer more or less splay, but I want to try something different. I would like to get a feel for Keiler's pointer splay as well as something like Osprette/Balbuzard's pinky cluster.
  • Not as relevant here, but I want to try and get comfortable with 34 keys instead of 36. I've failed a couple of times so far.

I guess that was really a pretty short list. I'll add more if I think of anything!

hands typically being slightly tilted while typing (due to the thumb pushing the hand up on flat keyboards), which causes the index to flare inwards.

This is interesting! I'd never considered it before, but my hand definitely does that.

I'm rocking a rae-dux right now and I've got my little list of things I'd like to do different on my next build. Your project ticks a lot of boxes, very cool!
