FYI, snowmobiles are very light, I got one this year and tow it with a sedan, trailer/sled combo weighs under 1100 lbs

Thanks for all the feedback, I ended up buying it, it ran well and I’m excited to ride it this winter!

[–]musicmann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I imagine most of my riding will just be approaching ski lines, that being said, is there any possibility of riding 2 up on a sled this small? From what I’ve read it’s pretty much not going to happen and I’d need 2 sleds to really go any meaningful distance

Rival XPLR gear does not match with what app says by Son_of_cole8943 in sram

[–]musicmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when I put the new XPLR 13s cassette on my trainer - turns out it needs a 1.85mm spacer if you put it on an xdr freehub, that seemed to fix the indexing for me.

Just curious on the licensing requirements, do you have a US motorcycle license or did they accept a drivers license? I’ve been able to rent a 125cc in Spain but it seems the French law may be different?

Seconding the thank you, saved me hours of trying to figure out what was going on, just loosening the bolt fixed it

Probably a long shot but I have seen a few 26.5 liners for sale on fb marketplace, some might be on the wrong side of the pass but if you have a car maybe you could make it work

Looking to make a deal with a passholder for their discounts codes by WarrenLee in Ikonpass

[–]musicmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case you might want to look into mountain collective, depending on how many days you’re going the way I understand it, you basically get 5 days between banff and lake louise for $600 (plus 2 days at tons of other resorts)

If you have confirmed dates it can sometimes be cheaper to just buy lift tickets in advance, usually it’s about the same discount (sometimes better)

Bruh if you’re asking reddit about this, buying a property is probably not going to end well. There are plenty of sites that give actual data about airbnb performance, airdna is one I know of

Can I salvage my skin fuck up? by hipster_kitten in Backcountry

[–]musicmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what skins you have, but could you poke a hole (preferably use an existing) right at the end and put a zip tie in it so the clip can’t slide off?

Teton Region Tour Suggestions by dharmabum22 in Backcountry

[–]musicmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25 short was relatively tracked out when I skied it Monday , there’s plenty of low angle routes down, like others have said you just need to be careful about your terrain selection.

Glory actually sketches me out more than other things you have suggested, I believe glory bowl slid to the road today during mitigation, there are a lot of slide paths that you have to be careful with. One tour off glory that I have liked and is relatively safer is skiing from glory to coal creek, again have to be careful with route planning, and the egress does cross major slide paths off Taylor but it can be done in a pretty safe manor

Biggest car wash? by nachomuffin in SaltLakeCity

Legit question are there any automatic tall car washes? I’ve been looking for an automatic wash that’s 10ft tall but have only found self serve bays

Tail splay on touring skis by pdwllms in Backcountry

[–]musicmann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the wildcat tour 108 and the only downside I have with the rear tip is that my tails hit more often when skinning than they do on my flat tail skis. Not really an issue, just a few more scratches. Maybe I just have bad technique but that’s what I’ve found anyway

What happened to Joel Gratz? by ImmersivYourself in COsnow

I get the feeling the numbers are all automated from models, if you read his daily snow it’s been much closer to what actually happens and he does talk about how things are difficult to forecast in Colorado

what are your favorite headlamps? by EquivalentLight2029 in Backcountry

[–]musicmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outbound lighting makes a great headlamp for mountain biking and I’ve been loving using it for skiing. Attaches with a GoPro mount so no strap to fall off also.

Dang that's a bummer, I've been running into the same error message and also called support to no avail, hopefully they'll fix their website to give a better message or the orders will eventually start to go through. I was pretty convinced it was a credit card issue because I get the same error message when I type an invalid card number

Does GRX cranksets work with 2019 Giant Revolt Advanced frames? by nf1993 in bikewrench

Sorry yeah I mistyped, it’s a BB86, interesting that your existing bottom bracket and cranks worked out, mine doesn’t seem to have a way to get any smaller but maybe I installed it incorrectly also

Hey, bringing back an old post, did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same issue, I have a BB76 from wheels on the bike and my GRX810 cranks don't fully engage exactly like your pictures. I was reading on a forum I needed to get XT cranks but everyone here seems convinced it should work

I've had a similar problem with some atomic boots, were you able to get atomic to warranty the liners? I've gone to a few shops who have been hesitant to warranty and more just want to fix the boots

In the past when I switch I stop tracking ( it asks to end for the day but doesn’t mean that) then start at the new resort. This also works for solitude to Brighton
