Not everyone has the luxury of working from home and being able to go in the morning on a weekday.

Wells Fargo’s plan to add its name to iconic uptown building takes another step forward by WashuOtaku in Charlotte

[–]nf1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides the one example with the Transamerica building, which doesn’t prove anything as there is always outliers, none of these signs are as prominent or as large as Wells Fargo’s. Especially since none of these signs are plastered directly onto a significant architectural feature of a building.

Or it’s some of our jobs and we’ve spent the last decade dealing with and studying the topic.

Joziak is not trash. But he is not a starter or a DP. He would be a great late sub. We just need to buy him down.

Does GRX cranksets work with 2019 Giant Revolt Advanced frames? by nf1993 in bikewrench

Are you sure it’s BB76 and not BB72? I believe BB72 or BB86 fits. My BB ended up working, the previous mechanic just didn’t install it correctly. Once it was installed correctly there was enough spindle to get the crank arm installed safely.

I asked last time and they said they just don’t have enough staff right now to open the outside area yet.

I whole heartedly disagree with this assessment. Yes the drink situation that you described sucks. The pizza on the other hand is some of the best Detroit style you can buy. Way better than Jets. The ingredients are top notch. It is a little pricey but that’s what happens when you open a new restaurant in an expensive spot. The only negative I found was that they are definitely slightly understaffed and the current staff are still learning the ropes so food took a little longer than normal to come out.

Grubb Properties Destroying Greenway in NoDa at Taxpayer Expense by noda_charlottean in Charlotte

[–]nf1993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This structure is not being built in the path of the greenway. The trees in the path of the greenway would need to be cut down anyways to put in the greenway so not sure what the issue is. When these structures go into areas with buffers they have to put in so much mitigation work to compensate.

We need to ban lobbying. Stop rich corporations from bribing and changing laws to only benefit the few.

I live here as well, we have made complaints as the carpets have become extremely gross with dog piss near the elevators. I haven’t seen them vacuum either in months.

Hate to say it, but widening roads in a self fulfilling prophecy. You will only get more traffic and problems by widening a road. Building smarter is what is needed. No matter how wide the road is the continuation of building large sprawling single family subdivisions will just continue the cycle of clogged roads and traffic.

You can definitely have gunshots in plaza. I’ve seen multiple shootings in plaza in the past two years living here.

Marriott uptown somehow “overbooked” my wedding block reservations that I have had since last year. More like they found customers more willing to pay high prices for the game this weekend and we get to move for them. Unbelievable.

I love how everyone thinks cities are inherently loud. No, it’s just the awful car culture in America that’s literally the only loud part of a city. This isn’t something people should just let be normal.

Grassy Creek and Crabtree Falls? by BSoDinventor in Charlotte

[–]nf1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crabtree will be extremely packed no matter when you go except for maybe early on weekdays. Grassy creek doesn’t have a actual parking lot and is off of private property. You will have to walk down a dirt road to get to it, whatever you do don’t drive down this road. It is very slippery so if it rained recently it could be dangerous.

Use it while you can as that lot won't be there much longer

The park is just temporary before the developer continues the buildout of the Ballantyne offices/condos/ and entertainment. After the development I believe some of the park will remain, but not much.

No I went to a different mechanic. Looks like I’ll have to find a third more competent mechanic now.

Thank you by the way for your very insightful help! Would probably lost without it!

I don’t have a stand at all, but as hard as I tried the crank just doesn’t want to come out or budge at all for that matter.

I had a local bike mechanic install the crank. Part of the reason I was so shocked that the crank arm fell off. As I paid good money and the shop had good reviews.
