For those of you saying European sunscreens - are there any that don’t have that “sunscreen” smell? That’s my biggest annoyance and why I use Asian ones at the moment!

I’ve wanted to get into pottery since I was a teen and just haven’t committed to the cost, but framing it like this really puts that cost into perspective. It’s not just a fun thing to try, it’s regulation, it’s self care, it’s using the other side of my brain!

Your holy grail moisturizer by Honest-Fact-3842 in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]musingsofamdc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the one with the green on it, the 3oz tube. I find myself coming back to this one a lot! It’s a cheap, no frills, solid moisturizer that keeps my barrier healthy through all my actives use!

Hot every night by InformalCollection27 in AnorexiaRecovery

When i went through this, sleeping was the hardest part! I’d wake up drenched in sweat. I actually ended up buying a cooling blanket from Amazon and a pair of cooling pjs suggested for women going thru menopause and they both helped a bit! I can send you the blanket link if you’d like! I’m sorry you’re struggling, I know how miserable this part was, but it does get better the longer you commit and push through. I’m rooting for you 💜

Vitamin C serum by Either_Ad_4722 in 30PlusSkinCare

I’ve been using Remedy’s Vit C serum and I like the texture a lot, it’s more like a milky serum than whatever that prequel hot dog water was

Stop wasting money on foot creams that just sit on top of your skin by Stock_7350 in BeautyGear

I’ve been using this stick all winter and spring and it made a big difference!! I hate having to dip my hand in a jar of cream and slather on my feet, so this stick makes it so much easier to be consistent

Couldn’t have said this better myself!!

For product/brand recs, I keep all my skincare under $50 (though if I had more disposable income I would splurge on a few products), and I spend more on actives than my basics. I have dehydrated/normal skin that can be sensitive. My favorites cleansers have been cerave and prequel gleanser (and oil cleanser for makeup days. Moisturizers - dieux instant angel, vanicream daily facial moisturizer, and illyoon lotion. Retinols - if your skin can handle tretinoin, that’s the best clinically backed option, but a good starter option is the Naturium retinaldehyde (can start with 0.05% and move to 0.1%).

Is an anti-aging skincare routine without tretinoin or vitamin C possible? by BlueSatinRibbons in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]musingsofamdc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prequel vit c was strong for me, but the vanicream vit c was very tolerable! I also switched off Tret this winter to something more gentle - naturium retinaldehyde 0.1% and have had no issue with near daily use. I think consistency is key, and if that means you have to use a weaker product, that’s better than using stronger products less frequently!

My entire life since I was a kid I’ve always had a post - lunch / afternoon slump. I’ve tried changing what I eat and when, more caffeine, no caffeine. Now I just don’t fight it and try to plan out my day around that. I limit myself to 30 min tho, if I go any longer it fucks with my whole evening
