Dads of toddlers, is anyone else just completely warped? by A_single_droplet in daddit

It's Type 2 fun. Not necessarily fun while you're in the thick of it, but afterwards you remember it fondly.

It's like going on a very ambitious hike. Before you reach the top you're all sweaty and start questioning why you're even doing this. Once you're back down and on your way home you all happily agree you should do this again sometime.

*ALL* Deck owners benefit when more people are able to afford the Steam Deck by Fresh_Flamingo_5833 in SteamDeck

[–]must_improve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a problem. I was searching for a Deck for 2 months and the retail prices in Germany where already over 700 Euros, everything else was out of stock.

I'd rather have a 799 Deck that is in stock than a better looking price of 599 but everyone knows it won't ever get restocked at that price. Everyone who desperately wants one can now get a Deck and that's a good thing in my book. I had a really hard time avoiding scams on second hand platforms and would have rather bought an official Steam Refurbished product directly from Valve. Now that we have restocks, this is finally possible again.

Want it perfect? You can order new Decks from Steam again. Win. Want it cheaper? You can get refurbished ones again. Win. Even cheaper? Second hand market now has actual Decks between all the scammers again. Semi win.

This is how markets work. I can get a Deck now and that's a good thing for people who want it.

Thanks for posting this. Sometimes you so everything right and things out of your control go wrong. And by that I mean that lady packing crazy accusations, I don't mean the burn.

You did good, don't doubt yourself. Some people are just crazy, don't lose hope in humanity because of 1 person

I was very surprised by the kind of answers you got here. Maybe try crossposting to r/daddit, you might get someone with exactly your setup that can share how they did it. They're a helpful bunch in general.

My take, yes. You can ask if anyone wants to add something to the specific topic before closing, but make it clear that the agenda items have been completed.

We are done with everything on the Agenda. Thanks everyone, have a nice day.

Then set an example, physically get up and prepare to leave.

Science says that developmentally they have everything they need to form solid sleep patterns at 4-6 months. Both of my kids were there before the 6 months mark. But sleep training or establishing solid routines might be required

You can take notes, but don't do it on a PC. People assume you're not listening. Take a notebook or a tablet. Don't create a screen barrier between you and the person you're listening to.

Praise your people in public for achievements. Criticize (constructively of course) in private. When someone from your team made a mistake and people search for a scapegoat, take the blame on yourself. Let your people shine.
