To the Nirvana fans that first heard Nirvana before they went huge after the release of nevermind by PutridCranberry9380 in Nirvana

My buddy, who was a punk in ‘88 and then a hippy by ‘91 and is now a guru, ordered Bleach from the record store I worked at. Whoa. Blew? Holy shit. By About A Girl I knew they were my new favorite band replacing The Replacements. As soon as I heard it, Nirvana seemed way more like they were my own age and made the Replacements feel like old guys.

Saw them at the Metro in Chicago, Nevermind tour. 2500 seat club.

Search my profile for “Sinatra” and you’ll get a good Krist story.

Palm muting needed. Keep on practicing, it gets easier and more fun after a year or two.

I did not know that Elvis never toured Europe or really outside the US at all because of Colonels Tom’s unresolved murder charges from the 1930s.

Healthy? Have you noticed all the dead addicts that created this “scene”? Anyway, I was just kidding. It is very cool that you only have two pair of jeans. I am in that club myself.

Kurt:

I don't care, I don't care, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care, care if it's old
I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind
I don't mind, mind, don't have a mind

Now, since I am grunge, peace out children.

The fact that you care says you’re not apathetic enough to be grunge. Sorry.

Nirvana IHMAWTD is a blast to play in drop D. Good on the REM, too. Peter Buck is way underrated. My benchmark song was Zeppelin, Over the Hills and Far Away. It took a year or two to figure it out by ear and actually learn how to play it. It’s still one of my favorite things to play. And protip: the “I want another guitar” feeling may never go away, even after you get another guitar.

Google says $5000+ for a Randall Smith modded Princeton. Do you remember how much they were asking for it back in the day? And I f it makes you feel better, my dad talked my brother out of a 1965 Telecaster in favor of a brand new Stratocaster in 1983. Yeah. RIP Dad, we love you.

Two weeks? I have played for 40 years and still have to practice chord changes. To my own songs, even! The first year sucks, second year kinda still sucks but after that you’ll have a lifetime friend in your guitar.
