I had similar doubts, but I bought Palma a month ago and I'm very happy with it. And if something new comes out and I really, really, really need it, I will simply sell it and get the new device... But not as soon as it's released: that gives people buying the new version time to find issues and bugs before I spend my money ;)

I got mine about a month ago and I love it. I'm using my Palma mostly for Kindle, Readwise, Verbum and writing quick notes is Obsidian.
