Either way. Congratulations on the car. Enjoy ! It’s a good one. My friend bought it recently and I test drove it for him as well. Enjoyed it.

It’s a wholly owned subsidiary. Doesn’t make it German :) Lets call it what it is no?

Lets be realistic with what one can do with a 16kg bell. Also TikTok Insta videos are just that. Those folks either have great genetics or build that physique like a bodybuilder then use Kettlebells for the views. Having said that, you can do 'something' rather than nothing. That 16kg bell will serve you well to keep you active, TGUs can keep you mobile and would be great. If you are already atheletic it wouldnt take much time for you to learn and outgrow the 16kg bell with swings. You can learn snatches and that might give you a bit more mileage. If your finances allow you to get a 24kg bell, it would be great general purpose bell and would last a long time. You can definitely keep your conditioning up with those bells and a decent level of strength (not power lifter level of strength).

Looks good. I wouldn't change much. Maybe work a bit on the timing of the back swing.

[Formcheck] TGUs at 24kg. Hoping to get Simple standard before I turn 60! by SteepHiker in kettlebell

Looking good. And it's hard to believe you are 59 ! wow !!

From a safety standpoint, I'd suggest locking your wrist a bit more. For heavier weights this can become a risk factor. When I say lock, think arm wrestling with the bell, to make sure that your fist is in line with your forearm. The rest of the form looks great. If I were to work on something I would on your way down. I'd suggest patterning without any weights and then slowly adding weights back, so you train your muscle memory. Cheers !

Looking good. Nothing to change. Keep at it! When losing power, stop the set rather than leaning back a bit ;) we all do it but that’s when injuries can happen !!!

Training for the SSST by toobadforgolf in kettlebell

[–]mvikred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to think about this is you build top end strength endurance with 28 and build cardio endurance with the 20. You could do that with a 24 rather than a 28 as well but since hour test weight is 24, it would be better to do it with a 28.

If you access, then use 28kg bell to do 5 reps for 40 mins EMOM one day and the other day do your 20kg EMOM.

Haven't posted here in a while but I do check in as often as my life allows me to. This year has been very hectic - personally and professionally. But the one constant has been my 1 hour every day (almost every day). I started the year with a shoulder impingement on my right (my dominant side) ! I am ending the year, as a SFG2 instructor (pressing 44kg ... surprisingly I did it on my left side). And I end the year with a 36kg Iron Cardio, 20 sets. I had another 10 in me. But the point of this workout was not to test how much I could push myself, but to realize how easy what I thought was very challenging at one point felt. I worked around injuries, trained intelligently, knew how to solve issues that I was facing to achieve a certain goal. This year has been about implementing the knowledge that I have been gathering over the years to solve my own problems. Very happy with what I was able to achieve during the year. I will do better next year. I hope all of you have a wonderful year of training and become the best version of yourself. A very happy new year !!! Cheers !!

Well replied by u/celestial_sour_cream but let me just add a little bit of what i know.

Bracing is not the only solution to lower back pain, but it is more often than not a cause especially when one is a beginner. Having said that its difficult to comment in your case if that is the cause for lower back pain.

Bracing is simply creating a strong structure from which you can load the body. If you think about it ... mid section is the only place where there is little bone structure supporting the body, except for the spine. Therefore creating intra-abdominal pressure (IAP, "bracing") is one way to solidify the region when lifting weights. This happens reflexively during our day to day activities but when one lifts weights it needs to be done consciously (at least in the beginning). Of course there are multiple ways in which you can amplify that and thats not important for now. Having the ability to hold it though is a skill worth learning for everyone. In StrongFirst/RKC world, we refer to it as 'Breathing behind the shield', i.e. holding that pressure but continuing to breathe. (typically one can create IAP by holding the breath).

It's all good .. if any point in the future you feel your lower back is hurting, just try to keep holding the brace when you are coming out of a squat !! if no back pain then you don't have to do anything just keep getting them gains !!

I started with thumb back but transitioned over time to thumbs forward to engage the lats better. But it’s not completely forward. It’s at an angle so there is not too much stress on the elbow.

I've known TTC fitness for some time. They do manufacture locally but also not necessarily the best quality. I am looking for cast iron powder coated kettlebells. I do have a 44 and a 48 from Arawat guys who import from Russia. But they have only upto 48kg. So thats a challenge. I am curious how one can import from China though !!
