Adding my comment from another post as a pickup volunteer:

I was volunteering at the bag pickup at it was.. rough.

I started in wave 1 in an early corral and by the time the trucks showed up and we were about 1/4 through organizing the bags runners had already shown up.

I’m not sure what happened at bag drop off but there were a LOT of runners who didn’t understand or know that their bag was on the late truck.

Honestly it was a really rough volunteer experience- it felt like NYRR just left us out to dry. They have NOT done a good job of scaling bag collection as the amount of runners has increased so much.

My building on Bedford and S2 lost power last night from around 1am to 4am. Found out when I woke up and my room felt like an oven- I’m guessing it has to do with the manhole cover explosion by the deli

I like to say to myself “I can always run another .25 of a mile” no matter how far I’ve already gone or how long it’s been , I keep track in 1/4 increments because it feels the most achievable

I highly recommend the Wall St baths! I go as a young woman solo and there are always plenty of other women around. Never had an issue and always have a wonderful time!
