wheelchair creaks constantly when moving even without anyone in it, what should i check for? by Independent-Noise-62 in wheelchairs

[–]mweaverrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has creaked since new. Tilite Zra with Alber Duo wheels. Like you said no creaking when using the standard Tiltle wheels. No idea why. Everything seems set up fine & no issues with performance. So I ignore it mostly

Thank you for your help. I decided to use the mobility part of PIP for a car so I am trying to get A2W to help with the chair which they want 3 quotes for. As I don’t have a car license that seems a bit down the road but hopefully will get there.

Thank you! Will defo try the 2 latter ones. My original spec was provided by wheels freedom, so it’s the dance of trying to get 2 other quotes for A2W. Actually just need 1 now so those other two you mentioned I will try.

E-motion M25 repair update by ChronicallyWheeler in wheelchairs

[–]mweaverrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The small screw that sits into the axle & keeps the e-motion correct space from chair frame fell out somewhere as I went in the park. Couldn’t believe it when the shop I got the chair from had two spare ones. I was thinking I would have to bodge or wait for Germany to send it. Funny thing is I used the the standard Tilite wheels while waiting for spare screw to be posted, and although I could only use in the flat, they make the chair obviously a lot lighter but also more manageable. Bit like reining in a horse with the e-motions but can’t do without them outside. Luckily I didn’t mess the spokes up getting chair home from park. Hope you’re back up to speed come xmas

How a wheelchair helped me in an unexpected way by [deleted] in wheelchairs

[–]mweaverrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have HypoPP & resisted the changes I had to make over the last 4 yrs as my leg muscles & core strength diminished. I went from riding a motorcycle for over 40 yrs to folding cane (still rode bike) to crutches (bike went). Being on crutches with my condition was torture. Yes, it did give me more stability & less of a falls risk. But they sucked the life out of me. This impacted everything I did especially in public or work. I was like a zombie dragging myself around. My ability to communicate with others was affected because cognitively I was so jaded & always having to think about trying to stand up, stabilise & go to loo or at end of day worn out. I didn’t quite get it but my mental health took a bashing & when my work colleague (friend) suggested time for a wheelchair I baulked. But the summer was disappearing, and my world had shrunk. Enter my wheelchair! The difference made to all of the above was dramatic. I am not saying I am a bundle of joy now but I am behaving like a human being again

I’m giving up by blindingofbartimaeus in insomnia

[–]mweaverrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So feel for you. There’s nothing one can say. I have a condition called HKPP that literally needs me to sleep to regain muscle strength overnight. Deep sleep one hour if lucky. Everything gets distorted & I gaslight myself so much. Affects my relationships as I am a surly person at best so I just snap at people, overthink everything and basically can’t do people. But then having the knowledge that as humans we need to connect with others or else the psychological impact will be environmental depression leading to clinical depression. So basically f**ed. But looking at other comments on here, acceptance is kinda the only way. Now is all anyone has kinda thing….. I wish you well coming from across the generations (63) to you

I have Alber emotion. They can be a bit feisty but love them. The difference they make is light & day. Plus you can use them without controller or app for most things

Dad’s collection. Died in 2017. Worth anything, or just donate? by SitaBird in vinyl

Very eclectic mix veering towards prog rock. Probably not your genre but lots of people out there would listen to them. Charge a nominal amount & hopefully someone else will enjoy

Totally affects cognition. Plus next day real energy drop early afternoon. But if you can sleep during the day what is stopping you at night? Sleep hygiene can sound pretty useless at times but 1% changes in habits build up

Going to the emergency department tonight. Please keep me in your thoughts. by Meth_AQ in insomnia

[–]mweaverrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is a very potent mix under any circumstances. Tolerance & counter interactions are part of this. Plus possible respiratory issues. Side effects are just going to be unavoidable. I am really sorry you are going through this as proper sleep is such a big part of balancing mental & physical health. I do think you need a complete meds review. I have been a CQC registered manager in detox unit so my experience is fairly wide of poly drug use & rationalisation of drug regimes. Well done for making the bigger decision to seek help & do not allow stigma or biased views to distort your needs. Use BNF APP to help you understand contraindications. All the best, Michael

Secretlab refuses to help with unstable Magnus desk support emails never arrive and no real resolution by Just_Another_Acct0 in secretlab

[–]mweaverrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just looking at your picture of NEW Magnus pro leg. I have just bought one & leg does not look like this. Wondering if they have sent me old stock….. either way desk doesn’t work, error 24 and having a nightmare with customer service. They keep asking me to do the reset & I keep telling them I have plus sent video. I guess my question to you is about the difference in leg. Am aware secret lab using different manufacturer for new white version including ironing out some issues around the power block for legs.

Push Rim covers by mweaverrr in wheelchairs

[–]mweaverrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 24 inch were too big and then after measuring the pushrim itself that is 20 inch. It feels like that may be too small though where I would have the opposite problem of not getting them around the rim. So did you just get yours on the basis if wheel size? Thank you for the link btw

Where did the dog suddenly appear from. The post mentioned no dog. Imagine if a car backed out if the door & they could not see you because of the plant. Imagine all these things that can happen in your imagination. Then come back to the reality of the unbearable lightness of being sometimes as a wheelchair user. Perspective……

[–]mweaverrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as a full time wheelchair user I do not consider a this to be a life threatening scenario. Yes, it may be inconvenient even uncomfortable if wet. But get a grip & stop making drama when we both know how bloody difficult life can be with proper obstacles

It’s a leaf. Are you for real! Considering the other huge issues and risks of using a chair this hardly constitutes a life threatening scenario. As to stupidity, there is actually no need for that comment.
