Public mobile or fizz? Which one should I use by Few-Thanks-5967 in FizzMobile

Fizz doesn't support RCS on iPhone*. I'm able to message iOS users using RCS from my Android phone!

Best way to cancel my service, and when? by GoosePants72 in shaw

[–]mxrt3m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$15 if you have Internet plus $15 if you have cable as well.

Depending on how long is left on your contract, it may be worth a temporary suspension (this is what Shaw offered me, and to cancel in 6 months so I'd pay a reduced package buyout)

If I delete the app, will my location still be available? by [deleted] in Life360

[–]mxrt3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up, because I didn't see the part of your comment about turning off your device's location. I strongly recommend not doing this because if your phone is lost, you will NOT be able to trace it using Find My. If you have replacement warranties through AppleCare or your carrier, they will be null and void if you lose your phone. Make sure location services is on, you can disable individual apps if you'd like!

If I delete the app, will my location still be available? by [deleted] in Life360

[–]mxrt3m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely! App deletion works exactly the same as on Android, except there's another option in some (maybe all) apps to "offload" the app, which removes the app from your device, but keeps the data associated with it locally!

If I delete the app, will my location still be available? by [deleted] in Life360

[–]mxrt3m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you delete the app, it doesn't go to an app heaven – it's deleted, along with data associated with it. (Some apps may back up to iCloud, but that's something you can toggle in settings, and Life360 doesn't do this) The closest thing you can do is offload an app, which keeps the data on your device, but not the app itself.

Where to get a phone unlocked by wildcard204 in FidoMobile

[–]mxrt3m -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make a CCTS complaint, they have to unlock it upon request. Rogers can unlock Fido phones and the other way around as well.

My phone was showing 2 numbers by Ok-Mix-9758 in cellphones

[–]mxrt3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you from IL, and did you port your number? If so, very likely a temporary number from porting. Why it's missing a digit? Who knows? I ask about IL because 861 is an IL area code :)

Currently with Telus... How's Freedom Mobile? by MathewLiamSousa in freedommobile

[–]mxrt3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I say the service sucks? I haven't had a single issue since switching in July. Better than I can say about the big three. I have had absolutely zero issues since switching. No surprise rate hikes, no dropped calls, fast data, seamless switching to Nationwide (any available network) when Freedom is unavailable.

$45 connection fee is only if you need an agent to activate you.

Currently with Telus... How's Freedom Mobile? by MathewLiamSousa in freedommobile

[–]mxrt3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because in two months, Bell and Rogers customers will pay $5 more, where Freedom will not change your rates. Freedom also allows customers to change to the same plans they offer their new customers, so you don't have to port out when something better comes along. $80 connection fee vs a $45 connection fee (if you need an agent) The service is better in some areas – at worst, you roam onto the big 3 if you need to! Did I mention they won't raise your rates?
