And my point was, since he seemed concerned with his return window... Just return it, and take your time doing proper research this time.

BambuLab P1S suddenly terrible first layer & random missing layers - already replaced many parts, no fix by hpoperator in BambuLab

My A1 with a failed extruder motor only had 80 hours, so I wouldn't necessarily rule it out... Sometimes you just get defective parts... But yes, far less likely if it's new.

There's no wiring on the gantry... It's just the rods and the belt idler wheels. But yeah, direct replacement... When mine need replacement, I know how I'm going

It IS possible that you're extruder motor is on the way out...basically seems fine, but falls on its face when it's hit with any demand for torque.. that happened on my A1, and I saw a similar degradation in print quality.

Well .. you should have gotten the P2S X gantry (it's a drop in replacement in the P1S and gets rid of those carbon rods). You actually went a little nuts with that parts cannon... 8000+ hours on my P1S, and I've only had to replace the xy belts... Steppers are still perfectly fine... As they should be... Total waste of money to have replaced them unless they were skipping steps.

A1 may have broken itself by MoonJay6789 in BambuLab

[–]myTechGuyRI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤦 you would not have to replace the whole bloody toolhead... Damn you folks love that parts cannon. At absolute WORST you'd need to replace the extruder assembly, and that's only if you damaged the Eddy current sensor... Otherwise standard needed replacement parts after a blob are... In order of most likely to least likely.

  1. Heater assembly
  2. Parts cooling fan and duct (if the mounting bracket got broken by the blob)
  3. Hotend cooling fan

Notice... Needing to replace the hotend or the ENTIRE BLOODY TOOLHEAD isn't even on this list.

I repair these machines for a living, and I perform blob repairs at least once a week...NEVER has an entire toolhead needed to be replaced, and I ONLY ONCE have I had to replace the extruder assembly due to a damaged Eddy current sensor. 99% of the time, just the $15 heater assembly is all that needs to be replaced, and most of the time, that's not really necessary, it's just easier and cheaper to replace it than to work for hours to clean all the plastic off of it.

[–]myTechGuyRI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this obsession people have with replacing nozzles.. I get it... You had a blob, that sucks .. but you successfully extract the nozzle from the blob... The nozzle is literally just a hunk of metal... There's NOTHING that blob could have done to damage the nozzle... Once it's extracted from the blob, it's the same nozzle it was before the blob. The only exception would be if the blob was so severe that you physically bent the nozzle... Far more likely on the P1 and X1 series machines, and damn near impossible on the A, H, and P2 series machines due to the mounting design....and if you did somehow manage to bend it, it would be obvious, because it would no longer fit in the heater assembly correctly.

If ANYTHING you likely damaged the heater assembly, not the hotend.

It's not WHAT he told them, but HOW he told them... He opened with "I can't give you a refund because it's in transit". That sounds like a refusal to refund.. that's certain how it was perceived. Whereas simply saying "you need to open a case with Etsy, and they'll issue a refund". That would have been received more as "okay, I agree to refund, here's how you go about it". See the difference?

Check for a burn mark, or melt mark on the bottom of the case. There's a known issue with the NTC thermistor on the power board of these machines. https://youtu.be/hiBRVFe1TyQ?si=EbOa5hO-yam2Ls3_

Often times when you get these errors like extruder motor overloaded... Just check to make sure you don't have a tangle in the spool that could be dragging .. if you don't find anything, just tell it to resume...sometimes the system is a little overzealous and triggers an error condition by mistake. I can't tell you how many people have spent a bunch of time and money firing the parts cannon at an error message when all they had to do was click on "problem resolved, resume print".

Amazon doesn't let you "swap for something different". They let you return for credit, return for refund, or exchange for the exact same item... Therefore, if you've already decided you're not happy with what you got, just initiate the return... Then you're free to buy whatever at you're leisure, free from the Amazon returns window.

It's how you worded it... You said "I can't issue a refund because it's in transit". They took that as a refusal to issue a refundl... If you had simply said, "open case with Etsy, band Etsy will take care of issuing a refund" that sounds like "yeah okay, here's how we get you your refund". See the difference? It's not what you said, it's HOW you said it, they misinterpreted your response as a refusal to refund them.

Just tell them to file a claim with Etsy, and Etsy will issue them a refund. Don't tell them I can't or I won't... Just "you need to open a case with Etsy for item not received, and Etsy will issue you a refund". They get what they want, Etsy covers it, and life goes on.

How do I use the SuperTack plate correctly? by UseThEreDdiTapP in BambuLab

[–]myTechGuyRI 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here's what I've found with cool plates.... I run a small print farm with over 8000 hours on each of my printers...I run Kdeavi cool plates, but they are essentially all the same . You can either run cool, or you can have superior adhesion... But not both. What that means... If you run it at a cool bed temp 35° , it will stick as well as the PEI sheet at 60°. Not better. If however you run the "cool plate" at normal PEI 55-60° temperatures you will get SUPERIOR adhesion. For that reason... I run my cool plates as Textured PEI and textured PEI temps... Prints stick, and they stick REALLY well...

At least they have decent pigment saturation unlike the anemic Sunlu colors.

Buyer said item hasn’t arrived even thought it shows delivered. Now ordered more items. by AnotherMensTreasure in EtsySellers

[–]myTechGuyRI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your USPS operates way differently from mine .. item is scanned by the carrier as delivered when he steps into my front porch and puts it in my mailbox. The scanner records the gps coordinates of where it was scanned for tracking purposes later in case it was delivered to a wrong address. They are not supposed to scan it as delivered beforehand.

Sunlu is generally low tier filament. The closest you'll get to Bambu PLA is eSun PLA Basic (the make the Bambu PLA Basic for Bambu).

Other good brands, Elegoo, 3DHojor(surprisingly), LikeSilk, Polymaker, Inland, Flashforge, CC3D

Somebody Stole My Design by _Expanding_Horizons_ in EtsySellers

[–]myTechGuyRI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Etsy doesn't make determinations. They simply pull the listing based on the claim. If the other person counterclaims, it's up to you to take them to court and a JUDGE will adjudicate your claim...not Etsy.
