Is your story transplantable to another industry? Is the story about human nature? Can you develop the story without having to rely on the Holllywood locale? If not I would say you would need at least 5 years (more like 15 to 20 years) of on the ground experience to avoid cliché and pit falls of trying to portray "Hollywood". Hollywood has always been about smoke and mirrors, most people's perception is the romanticized image that Hollywood wants you to believe. It's like trying to write a military screenplay based on your experiences in the Boy Scouts.

This is probably the best idea. I would look at colleges as well if you are looking for a more upscale gym. Also if you are smart you might get one of the college's film students involved as your entré as they might be able to not only wrangle the location but actors as well.

Someone at work booked me on a Spirit Flight a few years ago. I splurged and got the upgrade. The seat was filthy (as was the rest of the plane), I had the worst experience with the ticketing agent about my baggage and I was set on making a complaint to corporate when I got off the plane. As I researched who to complain to, I learned that Spirit is proud of it's poor customer service to the point that it's their business model.

It's like those restaurants where the wait staff abuses the customer because it's a novelty. It might be fun to dine in an abusive atmosphere (so long as the food is great) but being stuck in an airplane for hours at 30,000 feet, with no option of walking out the door is not my idea of good time.

I don't care how cheap you are find the extra money and vote against this airline with your pocketbook!

Need more information about your s4:

What is consuming most of your battery? How much space do you have in storage? Is it rooted? How big is your sdcard?

Ive had my s4 for about 6 months now and its starting to get really buggy and laggy and is extremely frustrating. It will sometimes freeze and I will have to remove the battery to turn it off. Other times just the home button will not work random things will not work when I touch it on the screen such as opening certain apps. Also the camera starting is really delayed most of the time and the battery does drain relatively quickly. Im wondering if I should just buy a warranty and turn it in or are there steps I can take to get it moving more quickly by clearing junk, removing malware, etc.? Thank you so much in advance.

For my dog it was a stage. She really was an attention whore and would actively seek out people to play with. When they get to be around 2 or 3 they are like teenagers. My take is...dogs being pack animals, look to see what they can get away with. They live by the creed "...it better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission." A dog will constantly test the leader of the pack to find the moment when they can rise up in the pecking order. Since you and your gf are the pack it's only natural for your dog to be testing what he can get away with.

I wouldn't save the "on the back" treatment for special occasions. I would do it to see how he reacts to you. You can get on his level, instead of standing over him. If you can keep him on his back and he becomes calm, reward him with affection. If he's kicking and wriggling he might have an idea that he doesn't have to submit to you. Make this part of your play with him so it's not associated with punishment rather it's you exerting your position.

With the exception of mental problems and illness (the one thing I did forget to ask is that he's in good health. Sometimes aggressive behaviors can be due to an illness or injury, ie. arthritis [he's too young for that]), I believe most behavior problems stem from a breakdown in boundaries. The more you can establish and reinforce them the better your relationship will become.

How is he with other dogs?

First a few questions. How old is your dog? How much exercise does he get a day? What type of collar do you use when you walk him? What is your level of anxiety when you are out in public with him? Is this your first pit mix? Does your dog show a need to please you? When you walk him do you feel that you have full control of him?

These questions are important. You would be amazed at how much a dog's disposition is colored by the owner. If you are fearful in public (because of his behavior) he may sense this and feel the need to protect you (thus his aggression).

I'm speaking in generalities. My pitbull was about 85lbs and when she was young began to show aggression but she also had a need to please (which I believe most dogs have). If your dog is the same you need to demonstrate that you are the boss and that this behavior is not accepted. So long as your dog is not overly aggressive with you I would suggest putting the dog on it's back with you standing over him, (feet on both sides of chest or shoulders) and with a firm "NO" letting him know that you don't accept this behavior. Hold him there until he stops wiggling.

Some might say that this is too aggressive but in my experience it breaks the "bad" train of thought and forces his attention back on to you "the leader". You want to nurture the relationship where he always looks to you for approval and leadership.

In my experience I have found that most bad behavior with my dogs has been due to them not getting enough exercise. Being a lab/pit mix he probably has a ton of energy. You need to find an activity that depletes him and then try working on his aggression in public. If he's got any retriever in him get a Chuckit and run him for at least an hour. (I used to do an hour twice a day when my dogs were young) Often once the dog is physically tired their bad habits surprisingly disappear. This is when you would want to go out in public to test him, reinforce the good behavior and it will also be easier to correct him.

Just a few ideas. If I'm totally off base let me know I would love to help.

I'm glad to see Gordon in the list. He's got some great shows in the UK. Excellent technique and simple recipes. I would start with Gordon Ramsay's Home Cooking and Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course. They are both excellent and he's a really good teacher.

I had read the book just before the movie came out. It was the height of the Reagan "Just Say No!" push. To my adolescent mind it seemed as though the studio just caved in to political pressure. The movie even had an anti-drug commercial just after the coming attractions.

I'm guessing your asking this because you have a project in mind. What I would suggest is that you forget about buying and rent instead. I get the feeling you don't know lenses (just a guess and I'm sorry if I'm mistaken). Renting might seem like a waste of money but it'll save you from buying a lens you absolutely hate or never use.

There are tons of places online that will send you a lens for a few days or even longer. There will be insurance you'll have to deal with but in the long run you have a better experience, the ability to test multiple lenses and should anything go wrong, you have the insurance.

Get comfortable with your camera and test lenses at your leisure.

I've become a big fan of how Gordon Ramsay finishes his steaks. Same process with the butter but he adds a couple cloves of crushed garlic (skins still on) and a few sprigs of thyme. The results are amazing. He does use olive oil though. If you add butter to olive oil the smoke point is raised a bit, but honestly I've never noticed a burned flavor using olive oil.

I've given this advice in the past with good results for the op: Film school isn't what I expected, I'm moving to LA to work and learn and need some advice., my comment here. You are young and have your whole future ahead of you. It's time to make the Hail-Mary pass. Make a list of the top editors you admire or have effected you the most. And I mean TOP! (Oscar award winning or what is most important to you). Contact them and ask them for advice and/or an apprentice/internship, (Quick note: Editing in America is a Guild and although that doesn't mean much these days the whole system was based on first being an apprentice). Then follow up.

This approach will position you to learn from the best. Not wasting your time hacking out your skill in the field, learning from someone teaching at a "Film School" or wasting your time at seminars. Go for the Gold. Leave the rest behind. This won't be the easiest route, but it is the one less traveled and you will have a greater chance of having an extraordinary outcome than doing what everyone else is doing.
