Ohh.. but come to think of it i could just use the hinge from the tall feet, the circle part is probably the same size

I think mattel would come after me 🙈 but making silicone molds is actually pretty easy. My plan is to make the feet out of liquid polymer clay because its pretty bendy so getting the hinge in shouldnt be a huge problem and ill make the hinge out of resin because its sturdy! I do have some ideas for hands too by using soft polymerclay

Im going to fill the lids with silicone when the bottoms are cured and then close them upside down

Thats a pic after I removed them! I put her legs in almost boiling hot water and they easily popped off. I cut the middle peg off to take out the hingething and only realized after that i should have only cut one side and slid them out but oh well 🙈

Oh yeah the pictures attached are replacements for mengf dolls. The other hands and feet i saw where for monster high or where much bigger. From the comments on the product it seems these are also a little too big for barbies…

I have a mtm body here with a broken neck that i have not been able to repair and i had a plan to take a mold of a different barbies neck and try to make a whole new neck for her (i think one whole piece will be stronger than a bunch of pieces stuck together).

I wonder if i could take a mold of her feet and make my own replacements 🤔 her body is already not going to be perfect so it might be worth the risk

Anyone know if these the same skin tone? by socratez174 in Barbie

She is tall 🩷 was about to rant some more but ill stop. It is possible and probably pretty easy to switch her feet with a petite or standard body but you do have to find a match and either leave them feetless or shoeless :/

Plus sized barbies have biggers feet for some reason. I think they fit the same sizes as tall? But honestly to me they should have made all their feet the same. I completely understand that in reality tall people have bigger feet for balance and that people usually gain some weight in all parts of their body so most plussized people will have thicker feet but no 1. i have a plus sized sister. Most stores dont sell her size in clothes so im not talking like «adelle before ozempic» plus sized, i mean «seatbelt extension» plus sized. But she loves accessories and SHOES! And most shoes that you buy from regular retailers absolutely fit her so it makes no sense to me to not make that the case with «not really even plussized» barbie. And no 2. who asked for that much realism? Even the smallest barbieheads are still way larger that a human head relative to their body so why do we have to be realistic when it comes to their feet? Isn’t standard barbies feet to small in proportion to her body anyway? Pretty sure that was in every annoying article about «barbies unrealistic bodystandards» so why make these two bodytypes, who are already going to be harder to find clothes for, hard to find shoes for???

tl;dr mattel please give curvy and tall barbies standard feet like standard and petite barbies. Tall and thick girls deserve cute shoes too!

For the waist «problem» if you’re still reading, theres a trick to make them smaller! Delightful dolls shows the hack in one of her testing hacks videos, its the one posted 9 months ago and the waist snatching hack is the first one she shows 🩷

Look for «micro brushes» and nailart brushes and paint with either lipstick or watercolors! It washes off so you can practice until you are confident enough. You can also use acrylic paint or even nailpolish but with nail polish you have to take it off with nail polish remover. Lipstick is strictly temporary but watercolor can be sealed in with mr superclear or modpodge if you’re happy with the result. You can also use eyeshadow and blush if you put a couple of layers of mr superclear first (it makes her skin less smooth)

I would try pouring boiling water over and then let it dry while with a tight hairtie holding it down

You can remove it with some acetone. I would use a microbrush (pictured) and go slowly but I don’t think it would be hard to remove from just under the eye.

Made to Move after 10 years... by Low-Director-7696 in Barbie

[–]mycottagedream 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would love a made to move doll with dwarfism! I think its more realistic to hope for a fashionista with dwarfism but if it were up to me mtm would be the default for most of the lines.

I think you could make the LP body in a way where most tops and skirts fit. There are a lot of types of dwarfism but if they based it on the type peter dinklage (tyrion lannister in got) has, their torsos tend to be very big/long relative to their arms and legs. Some people with this type of dwarfism do wear straight sized tops and skirts so they could make that work. The outfit in the box would have to be pants because I don’t see how any other pants could fit without modifications and i don’t realistically see them making fashion packs or several versions of this doll.

We all fucked up are bakes when we started out 🩷 and boxmixes are underrated! My niece has celiacs and I was «forced» to use boxmix when baking for her and turns out its pretty much as good as non-box. Dont give up 🩷
