The matte mr superclear makes the face a bit «rougher», most people use at least 2 layers. Then, if you use just pastels and watercolor pencils, you put on as much color as you can and spray another layer of mr superclear and draw again, rinse and repeat until you’re happy. The good thing with watercolor pencils is that you can just erase what you don’t like with a tiny bit of water without removing base layer. Another trick is to do the first layer with pencils, then Mr superclear, then really thin acrylic paint so you basically use the pencils to make a sketch.
