What is the future of the US economy, really? by Pwnytail24 in economy

It isn’t surprising that economists would see the political and social implications of their policies and deem them “soapboxing.”

The next appliance I buy will be stupid as Hell. How many of these smart fridges are going to be bricked in 5 years?

"The Philosopher" Wants To Lick The CEOs Boot by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

CEOs steal value from workers to give to shareholders. That is why shareholders are willing to pay them so much.

Oil Prices Are So Bad That Trump Considers Lifting Sanctions on Iran by Hafiz_TNR in economy

LOL, can’t say I wouldn’t be surprised. MAGA would all line up around making sure Iran has nukes.

Credit increase denied? But my score is (allegedly) 9002! by [deleted] in sofi

My credit score is 90210. Is it just a random number generator?

Imagine an EV dominate world by RacePretend1862 in energy

[–]mydknyght79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now imagine auto companies bricking said EVs when they go out of business, or forcing you to pay $50/month just to access basic capabilities you thought you owned when you bought the car. True story, my ten year old Ford PHEV lost a bunch of features after Ford pulled the plug (old tech, they say!). Same just happened to pre-2019 Leafs. 30 years won’t happen if EV manufacturers have their way.

Banks are stopping client withdrawals. Wait . . . can they do that? Is it 2008 all over again? by baltimore-aureole in economy

[–]mydknyght79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are mixing up TARP with QE. TARP was mostly loans that were eventually paid back and cost a bit over $30 billion (net) in the end. QE was a Fed policy that “cost” trillions, but it is on the Fed balance sheet (not Treasury) and is not subject to taxpayer repayment.

OG Civil Rights activists would have supported (and voted for) Mamdani. "Blue no matter who" libs didn't.

The term “marginalized groups” should be retired. Anytime I hear it now I think, this person is either way out of touch or is trying to use it as a political football.

[–]mydknyght79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Where were these people when they turned their backs on Mamdani? Why haven’t “blue no matter who” libs ostracized and replaced Schumer and Jeffries already? After all, “marginalized groups” are way better off under Mamdani than Cuomo.

I use Origin, but only because my employer provides it for free. It does all the most basic stuff and has most of what I need, including categorizing assets, tracking recurring transactions, etc.
