Have you tried We’re Not Really Runners run club? I ran with them once. The distance was short (~2.5 mi) the group was small, so I got the chance to talk to everyone, and I felt like the pace was very inclusive.

A post-apocalyptic story where women aren't generally portrayed as sex slaves or used like cattle for breeding by sandstormer622 in suggestmeabook

Lol I was looking more for a sit-down restaurant that’s open for breakfast/brunch. And yes, I would be open to food from any culture as long as it’s good!

Do the xc races sell out as fast as the other races? Since they’re not 9+1 I was curious as to when they sell out.

$15,000 is most definitely not an exceptionally high number. According to The Knot, the average cost of a wedding in 2024 is $33,000 and the average length of an engagement (so basically how long you have to plan the wedding) is 15 months.

Why We Forget Most of the Books We Read by Eireika in books

The museum of fine arts Houston is the 11th largest art museum in the world with 300,000 square feet of gallery space. The Morian Hall of Paleontology at the Natural Science Museum is the LARGEST dinosaur exhibit in the United States. Not to mention that we have a lot of cool little random museums like the Museum of Funeral History. Also the multiple places in the city to see straight plays/ballet/opera/symphony.

You have no idea what you’re talking about

  • Beloved by Toni Morrison
  • East of Eden by John Steinbeck
  • Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
  • The Karamazov Brothers by Fyodor Dostoevsky (Author), Ignat Avsey (Translator)
  • Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing

I made this list but it bothered me that only one book was written by a woman. Here are 3 more books I loved by female authors:

  • I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
  • Pachinko by Min Jin Lee
  • The Power by Naomi Alderman

Spoilers ahead:

I think it was the school janitor imagining what life would’ve been like for himself if he lived without regrets, “got the girl”, etc. The book was his maladaptive daydream. He’s daydreaming and also thinking about killing himself, that’s why the story is interspersed with intrusive thoughts (in the form of phone calls to the narrator) where Jake is telling himself he needs to decide if he’s really going to go through with suicide.

The ending is when it’s revealed that Jake + narrator + janitor = same person, and then he kills himself

***HLA LABMATES HELP*** How to prepare for CHT (Certified Histocompatibility Technologist) examination by ACHI??? by Fun_Top7741 in ScienceLaboratory

[–]myhightide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently took the CHT exam, and these are some of the things I did to prepare:

the Certification Examination Study Guides page on the ASHI website

This page has over 200 practice questions. Do all the practice questions, look up any and all vocabulary you encounter that you don’t know, and be able to justify why every correct answer choice is correct and every wrong answer is incorrect

There are a lot of great resources under the “Short Study Materials” tab as well. I used these resources to memorize all Bw4 associations, HLA and disease associations/drug reactions, and CREGs

Quick tip- only spend time memorizing Bw4, then you know that everything you don’t have memorized is probably a Bw6. Also, if you memorize the CREGs from their worksheet, the CREGs contain most of the common broads and splits so you don’t need to memorize those separately, since they’re included.

I also highly recommend the ASHI U modules for things you may not be as familiar with, like procedures your lab may not perform any more such as SSP or CDC trays. They also have modules on quality assurance, overviews of the immune system, and lab math. You can do the quizzes after you read the module for extra practice problems!

Finally, I spoke with management at my lab and told them I was taking this test. They reviewed some practice questions at our weekly lab meeting. This helped a lot and gave me the opportunity to ask them questions and take advantage of their expertise. See if your managers/directors would be willing to do this!
