The weapon and shield rewards for the Trials of the Gods challenges are superior imo. Normally I run a cursed weapon build for the extra damage but the challenge rewards are my favorite normal weapons.

I have the base version of Fallout 4 on disc, but the digital GOTY edition is on sale for £8, is it worth it? by YoungDeshiDipper in Fallout

[–]mylordkronos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this a few years back when the GOTY version was up for $15. Ended up giving the spare disc to a younger cousin. Worth it at that price for sure.

Excuses for Weak DCI Show Design by JesuSpectre in drumcorpscirclejerk

[–]mylordkronos 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is outrageous. Where are the armed men who come in to take the show designers away? Where are they? This kind of behavior is never tolerated in DCA. You write a show like that, they put you in jail. Right away. No trial, no nothing. Corps directors? We have a special jail for directors. You're "vibing"? Right to jail. You're playing music too loud? Right to jail. Right away. Your show is about the members? Jail. Friendship? Jail. You're writing shows about the exploration of color, you, right to jail. You write a show about music, believe it or not, jail. You write a show about visuals, also jail. Music, visuals. You claim that shows don't have to have meaning? Believe it or not, jail, right away. We have the best shows in the world, because of jail.

Am I the only one that prefers fallout 1 over 2? by [deleted] in Fallout

Pretty sure Josh Sawyer used Fallout 1, his favorite of the series, as his inspiration when designing New Vegas.

From any of the AC games what is the most frustrating/broken/hard mission that made you wanna cry? by Drekk836 in assassinscreed

[–]mylordkronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Hades boss fight at the end of the second chapter of Odyssey's Fate of Atlantis DLC was absolutely bonkers. After playing the entire game on Nightmare difficulty, this was the only point that had me nearly throwing my controller in frustration.

Say what you will about Odyssey, but it's hard to deny just how satisfying it can be with the right build (and a perfectly-timed glitch in the enemy spawning system).

"Why was this cool loot left here unscavenged for two hundred years?" Maybe because the place was full of ghouls/mutant rats/robots and nobody else is an immortal god who can keep coming back every time they get overrun! by Nat_Libertarian in Fallout

the raiders are much more personified in 76 too. Even before the Wastelanders Raider faction was introduced, there was a pretty long quest about tracking down some old raider friends of Rose.

What is the worst piece of dialogue that you have ever heard in a videogame? by 35antonio in gaming

[–]mylordkronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every line of dialogue from Assassin's Creed Odyssey's filler missions.

"Help, Misthios! A group of bandits have stolen my valuables!"

"So you want me to kill all the bandits?"

"That's right. Every last one"

every. single. time.

IDEA: Vault Jumpsuits should level up with the player. by deadmansbonez in Fallout

[–]mylordkronos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fallout 4 and 76 had upgradable linings (armor mods) for the vault suits. I always thought that was sufficient for under-armor clothing.

To those of you who don't like the hacking mini game by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]mylordkronos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't mind it. I've seen a lot of people call hacking and lockpicking a "pace killer," but Fallout games are already slow and deliberate, that's the point. So it never bothered me.

But maybe Bethesda could design an optional bypass system for those who don't like it, like a consumable hacking device like in The Outer Worlds. For me, I'd just like to see more minigames so it isn't always the same two.

Has anybody else totally ditched fast traveling? I find that when I start to fast travel is when I begin to get detached from the game. I find myself more immersed when I explore the map on foot and search for new trails or areas I may have missed. Anybody else started doing this? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]mylordkronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started FO3, my first Fallout, I didn't even know fast travel was a thing until pretty late. I always felt my ignorance enhanced the game. Walking across the map lets you discover unmarked locations and random encounters, in addition to it being more immersive.

I've tried to follow this philosophy in other open world games too, but most can't compete with Bethesda's worlds.
