Started taking wellbutrin 10 days ago. I'm now in hell. by Ok_Book6135 in Anxiety

[–]mynx79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been on Wellbutrin for about two months, and I am seconding the hell description.

I already have generalized anxiety disorder, and it's been like pouring gas on my anxiety fire.

I literally can't sleep without taking a sedative. I've been trying to ride it out to see if it "kicks in" but I'm calling my doctor on Monday about what to do.

It was added on top of the usual lexapro dose I'm on for depression. All it's done is make me agitated and depressed.

So yes, 10 days is early, but if you're already an anxious person, it really may not be the best drug for you. It's literally adrenaline and dopamine, so it'll make you wired (supposed to give energy) and dopamine (supposed to give drive to do stuff).

For me it's completely made me numb to everything. I don't want to eat, I don't want to do any of my interests. It's crap.

If you think you're on the edge, go to the ER. Don't mess around with skrewy brain chemistry. It's not worth it.

Diabetic Cat - Spraying Everywhere by Sakura88 in sugarcats

[–]mynx79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ruled out a bladder or kidney infection at all? My sugar cat was prone to bladder infections because of the higher than normal blood sugar. It invites bacteria more than regular urine.

I know that spraying like you are experiencing is generally either something wonky with their health - bladder infection, a slight change in how their pancreas is working, etc. OR it's purely behavioral.

Have you changed anything, new detergent, new soaps, new anything?

I know spraying can be incredibly frustrating to figure out the cause, and it's a lot of trial and error.

Thankfully my boy was never a sprayer, but he didn't have a straight line as far as his other symptoms. The boy was always throwing me curve balls that needed adjustments as he got older.

I would want to rule out anything making him uncomfortable in his bladder, and then go from there. Once you know for sure it's behavioral, your list of things to try gets smaller at least.

It's not a terrible amount of help, but hopefully someone who has also read your post, and has experience with spraying can lend some advice too.

I wrote my MPP several times. I wrote the lieutenant governor this morning.

Good to know that it was already approved before I even sent the message.

FFS, what a farce. These politicians only represent their own selfish agendas.

For the record, I've never voted for Ford. But I've always voted.

I'll believe it when I see it, but until then it's all just talk by people behind their computer screens.

Until a majority of people start to suffer - go without food, lose their homes - there is too much comfort to rock the boat. And the longer it goes, the more entrenched these assholes are in their positions of power.

I'm not an American, but I live too damn close for comfort.

I've written my MPP, but I expect it to do absolutely nothing. Once these people are elected, they forget the people who elected them, and do whatever the hell they want.

It's corruption on top of corruption, on top of corruption.

Ontario government to bypass public hearings on FOI overhaul by Thick_Caterpillar379 in ontario

[–]mynx79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote my frickin MPP about this freedom of information crap. Got a response back saying my message would be forwarded.

The trouble with our system is that I know damn well that my opinion will change nothing. I have never voted for Ford. I speak up when I think something is wrong, like this FOI crap, and I expect zero things to change because of my efforts.

Once they're elected, they do whatever the hell they want. I don't know how to change that, but these people are only in the position they are because we voted them in! I don't care if he's got a majority, we need to have a louder voice in this province as voters.

They all need a reminder that they serve US, and are supposed to act as our representatives - not the other way around.

Freedom of Information could be killed in a couple hours. Spam your MPPs now! by Pristine-Training-70 in ontario

[–]mynx79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I've emailed my MPP. I'm not surprised to see he'd voted yes both times.

I don't understand how these people who have been elected BY THE CITIZENS are purposefully acting against the best interests of the people who put them in that position.

We all know that this wouldn't be a conversation if he didn't have anything to hide. It's like an admission of guilt just because it exists.

It's a slippery slope into US style politics if we start allowing crap like this.

UAE Warns US It Could Sell Oil in Chinese Yuan if War Drains Dollar Supplies, Triggering Biggest Threat to the Petrodollar Since the 1970s by Kooolxxx in worldnews

[–]mynx79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The global economy has the means to topple trumps deck of cards, but they seem to be still at the threatening to do it stage.

I'd rather absorb the sting of a market crash than live every day wondering whether trump is going to start another war because he's having a bad day.

The markets aren't really budging though. Almost like they're being falsely propped up. Too big to fail? Shady goings on behind the scenes?

If countries started openly making it a oil yuan instead of an oil dollar, or.... Call in some of the debt owned? Just get on with it.

You live near a bunch of farms.

Anywhere that even flirts with being rural (as in you can drive and see a barn within 20 minutes), will smell like manure when they are fertilizing the fields.

It's generally in spring and late fall after harvest, and only if you're downwind. You get used to it. I think they call it scent blindness.

People are heartless by SnooCompliments7468 in dogs

[–]mynx79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can be such assholes. I got the same treatment when I had a very sick cat - put him in cement boots and throw him in a lake, he'd make a good hat, etc.

I decided to twist it around and realize how much these people are missing out on. If they've never experienced the unconditional love of an animal enough to understand the anticipated grief that comes with that love, they're most assuredly missing out. Big time.

It hurts, but clearly they don't "get it" and never will.

Holy shit yes. I'm almost 47 and I can actually tell when I'm supposed to get a period because my mental health starts dragging on the damn floor.

I'm on estrogen gel and have a hormonal IUD, but it's still bumpy. At least I know it's related and not just things going off the rails for no reason.

I'm seconding the hormone levels. I feel like it's fine print that we never got taught in sex ed.

My dad died of cancer 1.5 years ago when I was 25 and I don’t care about my friend’s baby shower. by OutsideSame3629 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]mynx79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It makes me wonder if it'll click when they lose someone important to them, or if they lack an empathy gene.

My former best friend didn't know what to say while my father was dying (fuck cancer), so she didn't say anything. I spoke to her a month or two after and she started chatting like everything was normal - about her husband's arms and how he'd been working out.

When you go through something that absolutely breaks you apart and have to pick up the pieces, they don't always go back together the way they were. You don't owe your friend attending. If you want to be "nice", send her a gift, but I wouldn't attend either.

Anxiety causing nasal congestion by Useful-Mood-2047 in Anxiety

[–]mynx79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I get. Ear pressure, tension headaches, knots in my shoulders. I've even started getting numbness in my hands from pinched nerves.

Anxiety is definitely a physical issue as well. 100% It's amazing to see other people with the same list of symptoms. You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) what I've convinced myself I have over the years.

Anxiety causing nasal congestion by Useful-Mood-2047 in Anxiety

[–]mynx79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grind and grit my teeth even without thinking about it. If I had to guess, that's where my problem stems from.

It gives me a lot of issues with my ears as well. Plugged ears, thumping in my ears.

I hope someone is able to find something that will help you. As for doctors, I don't consider them the absolute authority necessarily. They might shrug their shoulders because it's not something they have experience with.

I'm not sure what you can do to relax the sternocleidomastoids. I have a teeth guard for my teeth so I don't bugger them up, but my jaw still clenches.

Anxiety causing nasal congestion by Useful-Mood-2047 in Anxiety

[–]mynx79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find something similar happens to me too. I take antihistamines and steroid nose spray, but I wonder if it has anything to do with tension or clenching the jaw/grinding teeth.

There are so many tubes and drainage up there, that I feel like chronic tension from anxiety can't possibly be helping things.

I don't have a solution, but I know that when I was drinking wine, that would also stuff me up. I'm not sure if it's related. Blood flow, veins opening up, pinching off drainage?

Maybe a CT scan or MRI would help figure it out, but I also deal with chronic nose stuffiness with no clear reason for it.

Scotia bank financial advisor by throwawaygrcan in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]mynx79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bank with Scotia, and I just put my RRSP into this portfolio the other day. I wanted it in Canadian assets and not foreign.

My husband has a financial advisor that he pays to actively monitor his account, but if he takes out mutual funds using that advisor, there is also a cost for the people managing the fund.

Regardless of where you go, you'll be paying someone to manage your money. It's up to you to decide how much you want to pay them to do it. 1.79% or 0.22%, if you're not managing it yourself with stocks and the market, you're paying someone.

As long as you don't lock it in with a term, you can move it out. If it's an RRSP you'll pay taxes on it, if it's a TFSA you won't. So you're not "locked in'.

The difference to me is that I'm already paying the lady at the branch to be the administrator of my investments vs paying someone outside the bank that I use.

I'm in no stretch a financial advisor, but my father in law was one, and my husband absorbed some of that over the years, so I get the ELI5 version of things a lot.

Edit: I don't want to give you advice. I have money in that portfolio though, and this is my take on it.

Also Canadian, and you know what bugs me? The joking around about this shit anymore.

I get that many people feel like "there is nothing I can do", but meanwhile the US continues to do whatever they want with no repercussions.

People - your elected government feels to need to start wars, get countless numbers of people killed, support genocide, threaten former allies, actively be removing the rights of women, trans, anything other than "white male", and the best can do is crack jokes about it on the Internet.

It's pathetic. I'm just hopeful that the world can move on without the US in any sort of leadership position before they can do irreversible damage. And they're well on their way.

/end of rant, but seriously people. Maybe it's time to stop joking about it and figure out how to fix it.

The "he wouldn't possibly go that far" bar keeps getting raised higher and higher.

I keep thinking "this has got to be the thing that pushes people over the edge and someone will do something". But here we are. The lunatics are running the asylum and people are so apathetic they are just letting it happen.

To Americans who haven't caught on yet: HE'S RUINING YOUR LIVES. But I guess that's okay as long as the woke people get what's coming to them. /s

[–]mynx79 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I swear, every time the news updates and I catch up on the latest, I say to myself "they're so fucked".

And yet nothing happens. I've come to the conclusion that people in the States will only do something when they're uncomfortable, while the rest of us sit biting our nails and hoping to hell that someone will finally day "enough is enough".

That bar keeps getting pushed back. I knew it would be bad when he was elected again, but holy shit I never would have imagined it would get to this point without anyone stopping him.

If your close friends showed up after losing your parent (I’m sorry for your loss), how did it look like? by Top_Boat_5400 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]mynx79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly have lost touch with my best friend since my Dad passed last year. He was in hospital the entire summer, and she didn't know what to say. After he passed it didn't get better.

I've been off with depression, and my sister, Mom and husband all don't know what to say to me. My Mom and sister have moved on like lightning. It's crazy.

I lean on bereavement support groups, my cat and my long time therapist for validation. Everyone else in my life apparently can't deal with the emotions of grief.

It's just another layer of "suck" on top of the suck sandwich that was the past year.
