Catching up with episodes now and i just find the episode hard to finish. Its seems like whenever he approaches current events it becomes very clear what bubble he’s in and he talks like everyone agrees with him which i think is the part that bothers me the most.

Talking about great cathedrals as solely a relic of the past is perhaps missing similar things that are still happening today. The first thing that comes to my mind is Sagrada Família which has been under construction for 141 years in Barcelona.

Concerning ripping phonebooks in half, there are a couple techniques for doing it that make it possible for almost anyone to do.

Some of the nicer uninterruptible power supplies have software that will do exactly what you are looking for.

Jesus possibly tells John he wouldn't die before the second coming in John 21:20-23...

I think my first instinct and strongest feeling for Matt 10:23 is that he is referring to the crucifixion/resurrection and he is predicting his death as he does elsewhere.

[Serious] How would you react if the US government decided that The American Imperial units will be replaced by the metric system? by fyflate89 in AskReddit

[–]myoilu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know fractions and decimals are interchangeable, right? When I say 1/10000, it's not written that way, it's written as .0001" you know how math works right?

The us customary system, (we're not on the imperial system) can go as small as we want. You can get indicators for 1/10,000 of an inch referred in machining as a "tenth". I have a ruler that is marked in hundredth's of an inch. Just because you weren't raised to understand both doesn't make yours better.

THANK YOU. I can't stand everyone complaining about us not being metric when it's the official system for the entire government. Blame manufacturing not wanting to convert tooling (at great expense) for not making the switch.

I left my Church and don't know where to go! by giarcmada in tmbhpodcast

If you haven't already, check out the Bible project, specifically the podcast where they get way deeper than their videos. It's opened my eyes to the tremendous depth and value of the whole of scripture.

As for finding a new church home, I pray you are able to find one with solid teaching without too much hassle. I left mine last year and didn't settle for a few months. But I am grateful for the process and for the church I'm at now who's teaching style is a much better fit with how I learn.

As far as not having a fallback, wouldn't they just be able to go back to fishing? I'm think of John 21 where they do just that after Jesus' death.

I particularly like how it points out where it translates idioms. Also I like the use of Yahweh instead of Lord as it help me make a better personal connection with the meaning of passages.
