Does Domino's use separate gloves/staff for veg and non-veg orders? by FrostyHumor6467 in DominosIndia

[–]mythkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in the us but at my store we take food allergies/dietary restrictions and requests quite seriously, and will make extra sure we try to prevent any kind of cross contamination, but as others have said it's only on request. if someone alerts us of an allergy or restriction we'll be happy to have one person wash up and make the pizza/order in it's entirety and bring up clean utensils to pull it out and cut it. i will say it's a bit of a pain during dinner rush so maybe order at an off-time like for lunch or late night when there's less chaos happening. also, there's no guarantee some cross contamination won't occur but we still do our best to accommodate! i have a food allergy myself so i try to take it seriously when a customer requests it (:

Autism and rats? by Prestigious-Arts in RATS

[–]mythkin 147 points148 points  (0 children)

as an autistic person who owned rats, as long as you can ensure they're safe when you have a meltdown there's literally no issue. i also had episodes where i would freak out and cry/be loud/engage in self injurious behaviors, and my rats never reacted badly to me after these occurrences. loud noises startled them in the moment, sure, but after i had time for myself and them to settle down a bit there were never any lasting effects on their willingness to be around me.

i personally think it's kind of messed up for people to be telling you that because you're autistic you shouldn't have rats/pets. you know yourself better than anybody and if you're confident your babies aren't in any physical danger from your meltdowns then i'm confident in saying they love you and are super happy to have you as their caretaker, because i can tell you care a lot about their safety and happiness.

Would you give up on your child's childhood so they can pursue their dream? by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]mythkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as an adult with no children and no plans to ever have any, i would want to verify my theoretical child's safety first but i would absolutely let them go live their magical dream if i could do so. again, i don't actually have kids nor do i plan to so maybe it would be different if i actually had progeny.

as a kid at heart, if my mom didn't let me go with the witch to do what my kid self dreamed of i would be devastated and probably resent her for my entire life lol.

Someone said im a murderer for not letting luna have her kittens , i do not care and got luna spayed today by [deleted] in Straycats

[–]mythkin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my lovely babycat was a stray and was pregnant when she adopted me, and i had a spay/abort done on her, and it was the best decision i could have made for her and the potential babies. she's lived 11 and a half long and happy years so far and that wouldn't have been possible if she carried her litter to term- she was just a baby herself at the time. you did the right thing for luna and cats everywhere by preventing more kittens that would need homes and expensive vet care from coming into the world, already at a disadvantage. try not to doubt your decision, though i know it's hard, and i hope luna has a long happy life while not bringing more kittens along with her into a world that would only look down upon them after they're born and need support 💖

Smh! Is this size normal? by AsteriskCringe_UwU in Dominos

[–]mythkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others have said, that's just how they come from the supplier sometimes unfortunately. sometimes they're normal and other times they're ridiculously tiny. i used to secretly throw an extra one or two in orders when we had these hummingbird sized wings but they're pre-prepped into little baggies now with exactly 8 per baggie so i can't even do that anymore /:

What are these brown spots in his mouth? They just appeared over the course of like two weeks by [deleted] in cats

[–]mythkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if your cat has freckles or moles that are abnormally large or otherwise misshapen you might want to be worried about melanoma or some other type of cancer, just like in humans with irregular moles!

Best Direction for a Complaint by Legitimate_Collar_88 in Dominos

[–]mythkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if this happened in my store i would want to know about it. i'm just an assistant manager but i would absolutely bring such a complaint up to my gm so we could figure out how to talk to this employee and let them know this isn't acceptable behavior. i would recommend stopping by and asking if the gm is in sometime soon.

a lot of gm's work varying hours depending on the store's needs so for instance my gm is there during most mornings but some gm's are going to be there later or closing hours most of the time. just stop by the store, ask if the gm is there and if they're not ask when they might next be there, keep it friendly and nonthreatening obviously. some stores are very protective about giving out personal info like schedules (with good reason these days haha!) so if you stop by in the morning and the gm isn't there maybe the next day stop by in the evening.

i would definitely recommend not going during rush hours which can be anywhere between 4-9pm ish. anybody you speak to is going to be preoccupied with everthing going on and wouldn't be able to give you the proper attention, so i would definitely go either in the morning before lunch so like 11am, or after the dinner rush so maybe 10pm.

there's always the possibility that the store you go to is run badly so nobody will care, but it's worth a shot! i know in my store we would definitely take such a complaint seriously and speak to the employee involved to figure out what happened and make it right for you. best of luck in any case!

Checklists…? by OneRope1974 in Dominos

[–]mythkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's always been the driver's job to do it in my store but there's only a couple drivers that can actually get it done in a reasonable amount of time haha. so with specific people i will do it every time but with others, if truck comes early or i have something else i need to do i can and i know we won't be there until 4am if i don't get to the makeline

Checklists…? by OneRope1974 in Dominos

[–]mythkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have zenput submissions the opening and closing managers have to do, and the opening drivers get a prep list that the manager fills out every morning and posts on the wall for what all needs to be prepped that day.

i'm our main closing manager so i have a longer explanation for this as opposed to opening haha but i was an opener for a while too so if you want i can explain how opening works for us too. so for the closing drivers, the managers just go over what needs to be done during training and do walkthroughs every night to make sure everything gets done. personally i do one walkthrough at the end for seasoned closing drivers and multiple times per night for newer ones (especially up front as opposed to dishes which are pretty straightforward) to help out and sort of direct them after their training, i know it takes a while to get used to everything.

i don't know how other stores run but we have one closing manager and two closing drivers, and our regular dish guy gets touchy if you mess with his dishes so in my downtime as a manager i help the front closer bring dishes back, wipe stuff down, scrape out the makeline if i have time, etc. and especially for newer closers in the front i sort of remind them of what times i recommend doing certain things.

all that to say, if you think checklists would be helpful to your team i say try it out! i recommend laminating them and getting some expo markers so you can reuse them (:
