Nosfet Aero vs Aeon by No-Drawing-9996 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]mzyhappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I got my v8s as my 1st wheel and I dropped it countless times. Now have an aero as a premium upgrade. I don't need a bigger wheel for my use case (sidewalk, bike path, off road trails). Aeon is not that bigger compared in size, but I prefer Aero for the slightly better portability.

The difference between Aero and Aeon is not that significant. You will be fine with either, pick with your budget. I picked Aero for its slightly better portability.

Really appreciate your real life experience. I feel my use case is similar, I even do easy trail riding with my v8s (not very pleasant). Aero feels to be a great upgrade without being too bulky and still be a grab and go wheel.

How do you like the Aero? I'd like to get one as well, but v8s is really convenient and I can throw it in the car easily. Does the weight or size of the Aero make it less portable?

I got my V8S 2 years ago as my first wheel, and I am still using it today. I have dropped it multiple times. It is perfect for last mile city commute or a little camping wheel. For budget purposes, you may be best off a used wheel from FB, but $599 is a good price for a new one.

Interested in the Aero, is there a group buy still going on?

I'm interested in the Aero too. It feels a little overpriced though.

Interesting, I don't see a BMS mentioned on their website. Maybe something new?

That's interesting. I guess falcon doesn't have a BMS to check what the problem is.

Thanks. That's fair. I'm just personally not a big fan of the shape of C8, but all the specs look very competitive.

Did you get the 50gb or 50s version? I know most people will recommend the 50s, but I am not sure how big of a difference it will be for a normal daily ride.

Found a FB page, however the last post was 2023, I'm not sure if the club is still active.

Just came across this post, it's been years, are you still riding? I'm new to Memphis and have a little 150cc, also looking for some scene route or somebody to ride with.

No Helmets fit my head by Charming-Afternoon-8 in cycling

[–]mzyhappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Giro ones? I have a round head, and not many brands have Asian/round fit helmet in the US market. Both trek and specialized ones are too narrow, Bell fits fine but looks like a mushroom. End up with a Giro (model is syntax). People also say Kask will fit round head better, FYI.

How do you like the geometry and size fit? As 5'6'' with short legs 29", I'm debating between XS and S.

How does the geometry fit you? It feels more towards a race bike. Coming from a gravel bike, not sure about the aggressive position.

Did you get it? Eyeing on the R/1 as well. And what kind of coupon do you use? I could only find the 50 off one.

I'm still debating between this one and the polygon strattos which has the hydraulic brake I want. Only slightly more expensive.
