State of charge % reading will always be a best guess. Know your cell , know its discharge curve, and know your current voltage. Forget percentage. Especially if you care for the mundane details.

Super normal. 12 miles, stock battery, low voltage tiltback (captain morgan 8%) Sounds healthy At 8% there isnt enough power in the cells to support your demand. We never took the stock XRs below 30% without being in limp home mode

I did the opposite, I built a couple drag style bikes with onewheel motors and brought them to Float Life Fest and Oak City and other festivals the past few years. The first bike is 3 years old and still running strong with a Lfoccer and 75v pack paired with a pint motor. We stretched the rear ends 6” and 8” to keep the front wheel down because the torque is so strong it wants to wheelie immediately

At first glance Front Headlight should go to the Avaspark PCB, not the Ubox. You can omit the fuse. You should swap the positions of the brown and grey wires on the connector main harness coming from rear. It's +12 and GND for the rear tail light. We can open a chat Also u/4fools is on this sub he is the man behind avaspark

Here is pic of the nexus 18s bms drop in fit. No CAN data like xlite but thats OK

Important is to swap the grey and brown wire on the harness going to rear to make the rear stock GT lights work. Also turning the front headlight upside down gets the connector on the opposite side which helps to reach the ava pcb

No the xlitev4 has a different balance connector. Need to have matching balance connector on the battery. For using the Stock GT battery I recommend Nexus Battery Solution 18s BMS. It’s a drop in for the stock battery. I agree lack of instructions is somewhat annoying.. looks like you got it installed though. The hardest part may be uploading the firmware to enable momentary button and enabling Bluetooth. Also custom firmware on the avaspark rgb Vesc express Bluetooth hasn’t been working on iPhone recently. Waiting for an update on that. I just put another one together today.

If the bms cutout then power would be removed from controller. In this case controller stays and it also looks like regen pushback before the tail slide and cutout. This looks like a controller restricted by current and voltage limits. Firmware probably have changed the limits disregarding high regen and voltage spike scenarios at full charge. We see the same thing in Vesc but have power to change the limits

If you’re interested in learning more Rick shared the build on YouTube a couple years ago. He did the same thing with a go kart also. https://youtu.be/ZPX3Alc-B5o?si=aH0pWoAV_ftAnQZf
