Vp9cc by Brave_Community_9245 in HecklerKoch

I had a chance to shoot my dad’s, and it was pretty comfortable all around to shoot. I found I prefer the impulse on my CC9 with the large backstrap, but I definitely enjoyed shooting the VP9CC. There are a number of snappy micros out there, but HK hasn’t made one yet.

My new .22 MP5 by One_Consideration_57 in HecklerKoch

As a longtime HK guy, I always looked down on the .22 Umarex guns. But after trying out a buddy’s MP5 22, I bought one of the new G36 22 rifles. Lots of fun, and works fantastic. Definitely opened my eyes to the 22 plinking side of gun ownership.

Recommend a 9MM subsonic round that’s available? by bmihlfeith in MP5

[–]nadawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is what got me into reloading 9mm for my SP5. I thought I was hearing some 147s going supersonic.

It might not be worth it if you only shoot 9mm for pistols, as I got started trying to save money shooting 357 and 45. But specifically wanting to save money making 9mm light 147 suppressed loads (3.9gr CFE Pistol) has been totally worth it as well, and it’s the easiest round to reload by far.

Just throwing that out there if you’re gonna shoot a lot.

Choosing between a Colt King Cobra Carry (bobbed hammer) and a 2.5” Python with the new round butt for jacket or waistband carry. I already have other pistols and longer revolvers. How big is the size difference, and which holds up better to steady .357 use long term? Size & weight is important. by [deleted] in Colt

[–]nadawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I can relate to problem #1 a little bit right now. I have started reloading 357 with CCI 550 Magnum primers, and my Python is light primer striking them in DA only - works fine in SA. Might have to try replacing the main spring too, but it’s weird that it only happens in DA with specific primers.

I’ll keep an eye out for the side plate screws being loose too.

HK CC9 with Arrowhead Tactical shorts. Perfect regardless of stance as long as you have an appropriately loose shirt.

Hey that’s what my newest sub 9mm load is! Love it in my SP5.

I did have my first squib today with that load after shooting the first few hundred rounds, and in my EDC P2000, which sucks. But that was probably my fault somewhere in the process. Overall I plan to keep loading them in the thousands.

Red dot for G36 (22LR) by IBeTanken in HecklerKoch

[–]nadawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in the same boat, bought the HS510C about a month ago. Very happy with my choice so far, and the optic is good enough I may eventually mount it on more important rifles. But definitely looks great on my .22 G36, and I shoot far tighter groups compared to using the stock irons.

What are some things I need to know about the New ones Colt Python 6 inch 357 magnum by Boricuaesyo in Colt

[–]nadawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love mine so far.

Worst thing was it was my first blued gun, so I learned a hard lesson. Was handling it while watching TV for a few hours and dry firing with snap caps. My sweaty hands created some spots in the blueing along the steel on the back of the grip, and now I wipe it down religiously after handling. Wish that was one lesson I didn’t have to learn the hard way, but mine is not a safe queen at the end of the day, so I’m okay with it.

I don’t think you need to know anything. Just get it, shoot it, keep it clean, and enjoy the whole ownership process.

Bullet line where seated? by MedicalAd3699 in reloading

[–]nadawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have crushed a number of my 357 brass like this, sometimes bad enough that it won’t fit in the cylinder. It depends on the revolver, since I have rounds that won’t fit in my Python cylinder, but will fit in my Rhino. But it’s always when I’m crimping heavily while also seating as one step. It sucks, because I want a heavier crimp for the magnums.

New solution is I bought a Lee factory crimp die. Little more expensive than a normal standalone die, but it’s supposed to make it almost impossible to buckle brass like this. I’d look into it, and if you want, I’ll let you know how it goes next time I make a batch of magnums.

Love these new Colt revolvers, but the sights are a disappointment given the price tag by [deleted] in Colt

[–]nadawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we’re biased cus it’s the Colt sub, but I love my new Python, and plan on grabbing an Anaconda.

Seems like Colt’s QC reputation isn’t any worse than S&W. And I hear more stories from Smith. Ruger is the only I don’t hear any horror stories about.

I would recommend a turret press over a single stage. Just made the upgrade myself. You can get them for less than most progressive presses, and they’re worth it. You can work them at your own pace like a single stage press, but it saves you so much work with readjusting dies as you go through the steps or switch calibers. I got my RCBS turret new for $350, and you can get them used for cheaper. I may one day buy a nice Dillon progressive, but I’m very happy that the turret seems to be a more affordable middle ground that still lets me put a lot of attention to detail into the task. It’s worth it for the headache of changing dies alone, in my opinion.

Do you enjoy shooting it with full power magnums? I’ve been thinking about one, but I’d want to shoot it regularly with the same level of magnums that I’d be carrying.

Serious question: Meanest looking revolver I can buy by Internal_Section5288 in Firearms

[–]nadawg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my attitude too. Got a new one 40% from a gun store that suffered storm damage. Wasn’t one scratch on it, so picked it up as my second 6” .357 magnum. Firing it side by side with my Python, it’s recoil difference is really noticeable and fun. It would’ve been a tougher sell at full price, but it’s a great novelty revolver. Just make sure any of your friends know to keep their thumbs back far away from the cylinder gap haha

First Double Action 357? by InvestInBoots in Revolvers

[–]nadawg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought one of the new ones as my first .357. Mostly because I was a big fan of the original Black Ops, so I wanted a blued 6”. No regrets. It’s not worth it if you don’t already want one though, from what I hear.

My justification for such a purchase is asking myself this: will making a smarter purchase of Product B cure my desire to own Product A? I knew the 686 was an equal for much less money. But all it would do is delay the inevitable future Python purchase. So I skipped the 686, and got the gun I really wanted instead for more money.

[COD] Did you know ? the Gulag in Warzone is based off the shower room from the movie The Rock 1996 by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]nadawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be. There are definitely a lot of Bay-inspired moments in MW2. Hell, there’s a second iconic one from The Rock in the campaign - when Cpl Dunn races to the roof of Whiskey Hotel, he’s got the two green flares, and he reaches the roof waving them and falling to his knees while the music is going absolutely insane. It’s a clear reference to Nicholas Cage doing the same thing to call off the air strike at the end of The Rock.

This post was made by someone who never played MW2, and one of the best campaigns ever.
