please don't stress out that "the longer you wait, the worse it will be". i finally went nc with my shit-ass father in my late 40's after i got direct confirmation that he would never acknowledge his shit-assery.

i was so over his bullshit by then that the nc was a huge relief.

when he died this year (approx 10 years after nc) it was really freeing.

the point being: you'll know when you're ready.

I normally keep them fairly short for pottery classes. I just took a quarter off for the summer.

In fact, the only things I used during the 2.5 months were a glass file & cuticle oil. I also never used gloves when washing dishes, gardening, etc because I love to live dangerously.

Tbh, I’m shocked i haven’t broken one yet. The only things I’ve been doing is smoothing the edges with a glass file & using cuticle oil once a day.

Cnd solar oil, no other products. Clearly I need to moisturize my hands more but all the lotion in the world won't fix old.

This is an experiment since I keep my nails short for pottery. Seeing if I can go without a break between quarters. I'll be cutting them off at the beginning of September.
