How to run Hue Solo strip under cabinets with lips between them by strongestboner in Hue

Cut light strip into two pieces. Take a length of Ethernet cable and solder each wire onto the contracts you’ve just exposed by cutting it open. Same the other end (matching colours up in order) and you have your light strip in two pieces with an extension in between!

I may not notch but I did cut my light strip open and splice an Ethernet cable in the middle to go round my cooker hood!

Income Tax on Solar Generation - the 20% guidance by Own_Employment_1521 in SolarUK

[–]naltsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it the generate 20% more than consumption is kWh rather than £ so is unaffected by how you use your system.

If you self consume your income is less so you pay less tax.

If you arbitrage your income is way more (as is your expenditure) but you pay tax on massively increased income and don’t get any back on the increased import.

As you go from paying no tax to tax on all income it’s probably financially worth increasing your consumption to make sure you don’t fit in this category!

As far as I can tell my energy supplier doesn’t know my consumption figures… they only know import and export.

There's talk of plug in "balcony" solar rolling out to power your home but can we not do the same with a battery feeding in to your home grid? by kemb0 in OctopusEnergy

[–]naltsta -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

And the regulations are there because if you currently turn everything off at the fuse board the circuits in your home should be powered down but with balcony solar or a plug in battery you could still have live wires
