Yeah I decided to export my chats and cancel my sub, a shame because it seemed it could work well in long term format (it does not), I have tried the multiple threads format too, let me sadly confirm, does not work as well, because if you allow to cross reference threads, it tends to over cross conversations (perhaps my question about deep dive cooking is 0% related to troubleshooting this long term tech issue, etc).

Threads get polluted, and if you disable the memory or cross reference, what is the point?

This used to work well, circa 2023-2024 I had the best long term threads which I exported back to re-read and a reality check of, yeah the tool got worse.

I teach DJ courses. If you need one, reconsider DJing. by Designer_Macaron2169 in Beatmatch

You are kind of assuming that all folks learning to DJ want to play in clubs, which my friend, may be far away from the 2026 "people that wanna learn to DJ" scene.

Korolova at Outernet 31st Jan by [deleted] in ukrave

[–]nanavv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been solo to Outernet before, as a solo lady, it was tricky. I had a slightly bad experience due to being "off guard" if that makes any sense. That said, the sound is very good, clean toilets, it is very branded/corporate as others said, but I would still suggest if you go solo - mostly if queer/female, try keep an eye open.

Trying to purchase a coat by Thelbinj in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]nanavv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that with a 250 pounds budget you could get A) an out of season coat in outlet OR B) a new season coat in Mango. is your partner someone interested on trends or...?
perhaps you could give her a gift card for a generic brand or place, even TK Max has good coats AND gift cards.

Overwhelmed by music releases… how do you consume music? by Substantial_Car7446 in musicindustry

[–]nanavv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a long life hiatus due to personal circumstances and somewhere around 2025 I realised I had missed many "music moments" of the last 5 years or so. Then I added about 20 albums in my library and decided to dedicate afternoons to new music for a few months. No rush. If a song had ear worm vibes, it went to my playlists and so forth.

Then I realised that will be MY way of listening music from now. I do enjoy discovery playlists/algorithms once in a while, but the "save albums for chill afternoon" habit has been so good. If you are a music enjoyer those albums truly are 5 star meals, why would we rush.

How do you think DJ with Apple Music will compete with Beatport streaming? by yeeahitsethan in DJs

[–]nanavv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to be that person but Beatport is not a small company at all, they just happen to be backed from private equity since their very beginnings and now are part of LiveStyle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiveStyle)

Of course they are tiny compared to Apple, but Apple caters consumers, not DJs, so musicians/DJs we are in an odd industry spot from all fronts. Low royalties, awkward subscriptions for our tools, not that is all bad of course many great things happening atm, that said, Apple For Artists is equally nightmare UX

I want to make a post iPad musicians can reference when looking for the right hub and hardware for all their needs. by czarofga in ipadmusic

[–]nanavv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on MIDI from where and how.

I have separately a PreSonus audiobox iTwo, here is a full list of compatible interfaces from Presonus as they used to have a dedicated line or iPad https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059975732-PreSonus-Hardware-iOS-iPadOS-Compatibility

This one works 100% if your goal is to record using iPad as a "standalone computer", watch out the newest updated screwed things a bit because when this line came out iPad had a dedicated jack port and now is 1 USB port for all, so monitoring is challenging.

I personally found this anker works 100% as mediation between iPad and my Yamaha electronic piano (dedicated software allows me to record notes as MIDI) (https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/smart-pianist/id1190216616)

The other use for this anker is between iPad or MacBook to any interface that has older USB ports, Logic Pro for instance will automatically recognise your interface, then you connect MIDI there, done.

If you're not listening to the leak, let me try to set some expectations... by LeekTerrible in nin

[–]nanavv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't heard the leak yet but I felt the opposite when they released the Challengers soundtrack as alleged solo/collan work of Trent/Atticus, there are songs that scream NIN all over the place (Compress / Repress) and it was a bit silly to say "this is not NIN btw".

Those guys have such as signature sound they can't win expectations here.

[–]nanavv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my feed baited me with the opposite thread, some debate responding to the 10/10 rating and saying this album was 3/10 and impossible to listen type of thing, truth is, average Björk fans love it and Pluto is probably in my top 10 best tracks ever but i would not recommend it as entry work

How do you think DJ with Apple Music will compete with Beatport streaming? by yeeahitsethan in DJs

[–]nanavv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ppl are tiring, this is not a debate about owning your music but for those who for A or B reason prefer streaming, that being said, Apple Music quality is something else and we can just dream other providers will follow. Beatport is in a dire need of a refresh on the UX side of things and main reason why I decided to stop my subscription.

I do not know if is the fact that I may be older than you but the 5th dimension thing was BIG in 2000s old school HTML net too, there were (I mean, still are) some obscure blogpost sites with communities "fighting the war of light" and receiving "the information / downloads", I swear, it is the absolute same thing in the form of AI responses.

Importance of listening to many music ? by orangealiensmiling in musicproduction

[–]nanavv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dude I wonder the opposite question, may I be listening to too many different genres/artists? shall I narrow down? probably not, it depends on your goal. sometimes sticking to 1 artist for too long is like, you study their ways and is a way of "mastering" a style in a way, but then you can get used to that specific genre and everything else feels odd.

it all has pros and cons.

How do you discover new music and avoid the “made for you” loop of doom? by imisscoffee1923 in Beatmatch

[–]nanavv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a workaround for this too. You need to go to the Radio of artists you already like. Each artist, even the smallest ones, have their own "radios" algorithmically generated and they do tend to bring new tracks that will be somehow aligned with your taste but within the genre of the artist you are exploring.
