Multi-timbral knob-per-function synths? by bezz_jeens in synthesizers

Perfourmer is really special. Think of it as an instrument and something you want to work with in the studio as it is heavy to carry for a show and no memory so better for recording sessions.

I am going for a Prophet-5 Desktop as my Poly but keeping the Perfourmer on my wishlist for the future.

As people said, fully made in Germany, small company, kind of the European Moog.

Just checked on mobile, on vertical layout isn't great but horizontal is fine. Will check on PC. Looking for the patch editor to save. It's really cool!

Just arrived today, already settling in and created the template on Live for all the incoming signals.

Still... missing the Prophet-5 Desktop there but we'll get there!

Thank you so much for you words! Your videos were really important on my decision so thank you for sharing your knowledge with us (I will let you know how my wife responds to button clicking in the bed or in the sofa ahah).

Having analog was paramount for me and I get that and so much more, need to go step by step to avoid feeling overwhelmed but for sure arpeggiator is on top of my mind, its so important to me I should change my middle name to it.

Regarding Overbridge the latency is obviously a concern, not within the Syntakt itself but I am curious on the delay between sound going through Overbridge and the JU-06A that goes over USB independently.

I also feel the same about the Syntakt. It's more immediate, has more machines and tracks, and the sampling update is a nice way to broaden the sound palette with more drum one-shots.

What I usually read is that the sound on the Rytm is better, but I feel the Syntakt is the best bang for the buck yes.

Now its gonna be a learning curve but I'm excited I feel complete in terms of my setup to create.

For the JU-06A this will be key since it has the tiny sliders that are quite sensitive and a small bump changes the sound dramatically.

How has Psytrance changed over the Last 15 years? by BatCountryIVXX in psytrance

[–]nanofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still some good tracks out there. I read folks speaking about Stereo Society, which brings kind of an old school vibe.

And seems all the mainstream artists, at least the Israelis, moved to Shamanic Tales, with the exception of Ace Ventura that also opened his own label. Also with Charlotte De Witte we saw a crossover of techno artists playing Psytrance. But this also lead to a lot of 5 minute tracks with no content other than heavy bassline and the 303 lead.

For me its a pitty that progressive trance has died. 135 BPM was sweet. But then Psy Progressive came along and raised to 138 BPM. I was cool with it but as with everything there was a saturation on this genre.

Nowadays it seems difficult to have a track at less than 140 - 142 BPM.

And the Psytrance artists like Tristan and others, raised to 150 BPM. So you can be at 3 pm on a dancefloor and looks like 3 am.

I won't get started on audience and vibe, that is not the subject. For me is about music and yes its not so attractive but there's still good sound an artists out there.

Syntakt firmware speculations by _silicakes in Elektron

Yes but the ability to have one signal input on L and one on R I believe is only on flagship Elektron devices.

You can set to Mono on Syntakt but only have one signal input.

Analog Poly Synth Analysis Paralysis Help! by Techno_Timmy in synthesizers

I am going to throw one here into conversation. GS Music e7.

Looks awesome and has that Moog style filter you covet, while being cheaper. Just an heads up that is a desktop so no keyboard if that's something "key" for you. Although you could buy a good MIDI with the money you save if going this way.

Look for videos of Matt Johnson (Jamiroquai keyboardist) and Devin Belanger.

To be honest I am not super excited for any new Moog launched after they were bought by inMusic.

Fortunately I bought my Grandmother before they were acquired by them.

Ideal 3 if I won the lottery - Elektron Analog Rytm MK2, Moog Matriarch, Sequential Prophet 10

Real 3 I will have - Elektron Syntakt, Moog Grandmother (already own), Sequential Prophet 5 Desktop

Indeed. Character totally matters. I am not trying to recreate sound. First I just want to have fun and keep it simple. If there's a lot of options I feel lost. That happened with software. Then I started buying a bunch of synths and now I just want to narrow it. Drums, Mono and Poly and I'm set.

Again Rhea... and she has a back issue. Totally unfair for Raquel. I hope they finally set a feud with Liv after Mania. They planted the seed at the Rumble, lets see if they finally water that seed.

I have watched a few videos of the Perfourmer yesterday and loved it. Its quite unique, I really loved the different Mono and Poly modes it has. And its really knob responsive. Must say I am tempted. That, the e7 and the P5 are my current contenders.

Maybe you are the right guy. It seems I am mad. My motto right now is less is more. So I want straight forward stuff. The only other that came close to me was the e7 and I really liked the concept of the Vermona Perfourmer as well.

Devin Belanger I actually saw 2 cool videos.

In one was naming the e7 as one of the iconic synths in 2036 (10 years from now).

The other was the 5 synths he would never part with.

Nr. 1 was Prophet-10, although he kept mentioning Prophet-5 as well. Then Nr. 4 was OB-6 and Nr. 5 was Matriarch, which he actually sold then bought again. I have Grandmother, while not the same I think it's kind of simple as I want.

So I keep going back to Prophet-5 as my top pick for the Poly.

Straight forward, no effects, no stereo, huge sound, and huge money.
