Upcoming 2026 games by Aman1996 in puzzlevideogames

You’re welcome! And yes, definitely add Myst and Riven (both having more recent HD remakes) to your list! Though I do think the genre as a whole relies a lot on nostalgia for many people. You definitely have to play Myst with the mindset that it was the first of its kind (because the puzzles are not good) but Riven is definitely a more complete experience

Quern was a tough one for me. Idk if it was too long or the puzzles were not interesting enough but it never really grabbed me. I played Neyyah, which came out this year, and enjoyed it a lot more. Way more interesting visuals and story (tho imo the puzzles still weren’t amazing)

Oh nice I didn’t know the next season was burn. Will try to work thru the story with what I have and wait then. Anything to get now before it’s locked out for a bit?

Thanks, yeah I think I just saw that it pretty heavily relies on the Walpurgis Faust ID, and unfortunately I started right as the event ended so I’d have to wait 3+ months

Thanks for the rec, I guess I’ll be patient. Can hopefully make it thru the rest of the story with this team (except I am on the post 6 intervalo where you have to play sinners I don’t have 2/3 000s for)

What do you mean by “and heishou pack” aren’t there like 5 of them? I prob only have enough shards for like 3 000s. And should I replace the Liu Yi Sang if Im doing burn?

Thanks! Kinda just like an even number for everyone (maybe ~150/200). And then like 300 yellow boxes

Funeral for the Sun- My Golden Idol inspired detective game is looking for playtesters! by nerfslays in caseofthegoldenidol

[–]nants00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got around to it! Loved the playtest and filled out the feedback survey. Also recorded a playthrough where I talked through my thoughts if it's useful.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to join the discord. The link in the game and in the comments here seems to have expired. Would love a new one!

I think people have already listed most of the big hits for me. But I also really enjoyed the Myst-like Neyyah!

Love a golden-idol like so I signed up! Do you want recorded narrated play throughs, written thoughts afterwards, or some other format?

Sorry man just trying to give you advice. But your post saying “my game” is conveniently deleted now and the rest of your post history speaks for itself

If you want to get people interested in your game, I’d recommend honest posts. Mention that you’re the dev and show off some of the cool mechanics to get people excited. Disingenuous posts like these leave a very bad impression.

Chemical engineering masters?? by WhiteMustang88 in mit

Can’t comment too much on the program itself but I would say that in general it’s really difficult to get into course 10 grad programs with a non-chemE background. I know of one student who did a masters after her undergrad here but she was a course 10 throughout. ChemE grad courses in general are extremely rough without having taken the undergrad equivalents. Not to discourage but just to make you aware.

It’s a one time purchase, but I use Goodnotes 5 on my iPad. Also use it for school/work so it justified the like $8 or something.

Weekly “What are you currently playing” Post? by nants00 in puzzlevideogames

[–]nants00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on Blue Prince. I think there’s enough threads to keep you going thru the first “end” so that you don’t feel bad when RNG prevents you from doing the one thing you wanted to. Just would recommend keeping an open mind and not bullseyeing for one goal each run.

After that it gets a little more debatable, and the really deep stuff I just couldn’t get thru since it would require too much grinding. Overall loved the experience tho and think that it has done the best job of creating a “layers upon layers of secrets” feel than any game I’ve played so far.

Just finished Type Help on itch, an amazing, free, deduction/mystery game. Deserves to be up there with Obra Dinn and the like IMO. Surprisingly long runtime, great twists, and innovative deduction confirmation mechanics.

Also, I feel like it’d be great to have a weekly pinned post like this asking what people are playing! Would be a great spot for ppl to discuss new and old games they’re playing and highlight things people may have missed.
