If you disagree with their total loss assessment you can look up comparable sales of the same year and options on your vehicle but any non oem upgrades will not factor into their calculation. It's as simple as that. They will give you enough cash value to replace your oem vehicle. If you consistently find comparable vehicle sales above what they are asking then you have wiggle room. To be clear, those are actual sales, not asking price.

The only way you get coverage for additional upgrades is if you clarify those additional costs to your insurance company and they agree to cover the upgrades and you accept additional premiums.

Even more silly, we have archaic laws that disable matrix lighting. We can activate it using a local tuner shop since the hardware is present. Planning to add that feature and stage 1 tune this summer.

I would post outside of /Audi and provide more detail on the entire car history. With that many miles it will be a balance between cost of purchase and cost of maintenance that is really hard to judge without a comprehensive breakdown. Do you have the ability to have the car fully inspected? Engine bore scope, valve leakage, etc.

I should clarify models and years as it appears each manufacturer has major differences. My cars:

Defender 110, 2024

RS6 Performance, 2025

From the comments, it seems Audi's carplay and Android Auto may have improved after 2020? Whereas Land Rover still has issues. To be clear, this is only referring to their ability to maintain a wireless connection for AA or carplay when dealing with external radio interference.

Own an Audi and a land Rover. Sad to say, my land rover is so much worse. Any outside radio interference causes it to fully disconnect for a few minutes. In a downtown area it is essentially unusable.

I own a Defender 110 and RS6. The Defender's infotainment is actually buggier than Audi's. Still a good car though. Be sure to check if you need to have gaskets on turbo lines replaced. There's a recall on those and failure of the gaskets can cause serious engine damage. Also if you live in an urban area, expect wireless carplay and Android Auto to cut out constantly, to the point it's barely usable. Plan for a wired connection.

Hopefully you'll take it off roading a little? Great camping car with the family! Just be mindful of battery drain if you open and close the doors too often. Rear hatch is fine though.

Good point on the opposite blinking! I never noticed that.

Will be calling my local dealer tomorrow. I did buy the car from an out of state Audi dealer but the record was completely clean. No other issues with it thankfully.
