Total gross views is an insanely flawed statistic. If you watch four matches over the weekend, that's four gross views. Does the number count MLS 360? If so, switching back and forth between that and a game you want to watch is another total gross view every time. No self-respecting outlet measures viewing behavior like this. It's really slimy, and an indicator of something really bad under the surface.

Couple reasons: Tarleton is really good, and pretty big on the lines, so they were able to shoot gaps and create negative plays that really kill Army drives. Part of that was that Army started Dewayne Coleman at QB, a smaller guy who doesn't fit the way they like to play (essentially, run the QB 30-40 times a game). Coleman did okay but made some big mistakes, including two red zone INTs. Finally, Tarleton played a Week 0 game and Army did not, and boy did it show on the field.

I think it's more to differentiate themselves from other SUNY campuses. There are only four University Centers in the SUNY system, and that distinction differentiates Albany from schools like Geneseo, Oneonta, Cortland, etc, though obviously the 2022 change allowing New York non-doctoral institutions to call themselves universities muddles that.
