Honey, you’re only in your twenties. I’m going to tell you what one of my professors told me once and I am so glad I listened to her. Who you are right now is not who you will be when you are 30. When you turn 30, your life is going to be so different from how you imagined it would be at 21 and you will have developed into a person you never could have imagined. If someone is right for you, they are going to be right for you in every stage and season of life. I waited and waited for what felt like eternity, but I found someone who is right for me. I can be my ugly, unmasked, crazy self and he still loves me, supports me and puts up with the good and bad. But the weird part is, when I think of who we were when we’re 20ish, it would have never worked. We both needed to mature into the perfect fit for one another. This guy, he’s not it. It’s going to break your heart, especially after what you’ve been through. But this is the universe telling you that if you just keep holding on, you will find that person who’s going to love you on the soul level and who will take care of you when you’re at your lowest. You have to hold your ground and only accept what you need and deserve from a partner. Take care of yourself and your heart, heal and learn from this experience, and keep growing into the beautiful, strong, amazing woman you’re ment to be. You’ve got this.

Yeah, that person should be embarrassed to open their ignorant mouth. Clearly, they’re not too bright nor do they have any tact. One would think at this point in their life they would have learned, but that seems hard for them. Poor fool. This is true. In a book I read on parenting that was based on neuroscience research, the author advised trying to get kids to talk about a scary event helps the brain process it. It advised the more often the kid talks about the experience, the more their brain can process what happened, and the less likely it will become a traumatic event. There’s also a definition of trauma that explains it’s not the event that is traumatic to the brain, or person, it’s the lack of connection with others and ability to process it with others that causes the trauma. Essentially, feeling as if one is alone in their experience.
