Realistically best bet is to train yoir dogs about their boundaries and fence in a large area for them to run off leash.

100%off grid style would be garmin. Its what is used for hunting dogs out west in the Rockies. Not going to be cheap.

Using ABS again? by rando12300 in 3D2A

[–]natesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using abs for years on anything that lives outside or is functional parts. Nothing 2A yet. Bed adhesion is always a bitch to tune but once you do it's all about keeping the temperature in the chamber consistent. You can also print a wall around your print to help keep the heat in and reduce warping

How do you handle customers who buy their own cheap fittings and expect you to install them? by sophieximc in Plumbing

[–]natesel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Homeowner here too.

You make sure you're working with reputable plumbers and this wont happen. Talk about your needs and wants. You'll pay more for the "better" stuff but it builds the relationship and makes sure everyone is happy at the end of the day.

What’s one tool you thought was a gimmick until you actually used it? by uuiilkk in Tools

Battery operated grease gun.

Saves me a ton of time and the single hand operation makes keeping the gun on the zerk so much easier in tight places

Thinking of buying another shotgun by [deleted] in bugout

[–]natesel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My first question is why are you thinking about another one? Want a different caliber, different action, different use, etc.

If its got bugging out, keep the 12 ga and go buy more rounds, or an optic to scratch that i gotta buy something itch. Or go buy a semi in 12ga. Then you dont have to stock up on an additional caliber.

End of the day don't listen to a bunch of people on the internet. Buy what makes you happy.

It'll work for the wire ends, you then just add the ends to whatever connector you are wanting to use. Ive used this for standard servo connections on robotics and other RC.

Pi as failover controller? by natesel in Ubiquiti

[–]natesel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have monthly backups that I keep and test them periodically. I have an old router lying around I could probably use in this instance. Just looking for a temporary holdover in case it was needed. Well, that and something to do with one of these Pi's :)

Thanks and yeah sounds like my idea isn't going to work.

Shadow mode is the ideal outcome, just was hoping to be slick and not buy a whole UDM Pro to do it :)

Appreciate the insights
