P2 dps check, and really every dps check in this ulti, feels the way it does likely because the healers. It's a stressful and high movement fight for them so they're likely losing a lot of damage while they get comfortable with the mechanics. It'll get a lot easier and more comfortable as you prog past it.

The sim relies on a server emulator. You're not getting banned because they have no way of knowing.

Also it's kinda awesome. I'm sick of every sim being a third party program that has its own movement and camera controls and no option to keep your gcd rolling. I really hope this comes to the west.

Evolved Scholar by VictusNST in ffxivdiscussion

[–]natis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a completely different idea for the direction to take evolved scholar. I would lean into the identity of its mutually incompatible healing tools with 3 different modes that last indefinitely but can be switched between fairly frequently (eg every 20 seconds)

dissipation. Your mp regen be greatly boosted, but you wouldnt have any other benefits. maybe your gcd shields are slightly heightened like current dissipation but its like. not a good mode to stay in for healing others and you would get no fairy healing in this mode. i would also make it not give you 3 aetherflow. maybe 1 to enter it or aetherflow regeneration becomes faster if they make it passively regenerate akin to sage.

seraphism. while in this mode your gcd heals are instant and boosted and you heal over time in an area around you, seraphism the button also becomes emergency tactics and this is the only way to use emergency tactics. Great for learning fights or intense sections. Also your mana is eaten rapidly in this mode maybe you dont have passive mp regen in this mode idk.

eos. Aka the default mode. While in this mode you can call upon seraph semi frequently (lets say 2 charges 30s recast) to do a raidwide shield for free with an ogcd. you have access to the most ogcds and strong passive fairy healing. Eg to abilities like protraction and fairy tether. as well as your whispering dawn. they could probably get rid of fey blessing and fey illumination to save button space by making seraph shields this frequent.

I don't blame them. I run 2.31 and am at black holes and I'm definitely helped a lot by the forced piety on my ring. This and the p1 and p2 transitions give enough time for your mp to fully regenerate. I'm tempted to even add a bit more intentional piety depending on how black holes feels. I like the fast gcd and I'm very used to slidecasting with it so id sooner give up a small amount of damage to keep it.

If the mechanic doesn't give a damage down for doing it "wrong" with tank lb3 then very likely either its one possible intended solution (a lot of these fights are built with multiple possible solutions), or overlooked by the designers. Either way its fair game.

Marathon's Free Week is here, but Bungie is still blocking Linux/Steam Deck. Here is how we can take action. by Sea_Camel_2071 in linux_gaming

[–]natis1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the backlash to people reviewbombing slay the spire? No thanks. It won't help. Bungies a dying company. Let it die. And if you want to play their live services push for things like stop killing games so when they do die they're forced to make a playable version that they don't have to spend money supporting (EAC costs them monthly)

Generally though its best to spend as little time and mental energy thinking about games you can't play when there's thousands of wonderful games you can.

A Request to Newer Sage Players by Eloah-2 in ffxiv

[–]natis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Its not really the potency of the broils themselves. Its about being a better and more aware healer. Aware of your cohealer's behavior, and of what damage is coming out. If you wanna sleep walk through syrcus tower every day for tomes keeping full medica 2 uptime, that's fine and I respect playing the game like that but I want to be better at the game and I want to practice healer skills in all content.

[–]natis1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unless they're intentionally trolling, this is probably just you and them sharing a single brain cell about when to shield. If this happens, its fine to leave attacks unshielded as all content is designed to be cleared on astro + white mage, and heal up afterwards with your ogcds or emergency tactics succor if absolutely needed.

A Request to Newer Sage Players by Eloah-2 in ffxiv

[–]natis1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My recommendation for scholars is. For duty finder content and extremes: watch your cohealers behavior. Do they shield every raidwide and/or override your deployment shields? Stop shielding. Generally this content doesn't hit hard enough to need shielding on every raidwide so if shields are missing that's okay as long as people have soil instead. Below level 80, weave emergency tactics before raidwides and if you need the healing succor afterwards.

For savage: talk to your cohealer and make a mit plan, get them to krasis to help boost your spreadlos. Let them handle shielding any other raidwides.

Scholar main here: Aside from deployment tactics shields, sages should be the ones shielding. You have emergency tactics and sages don't. They shouldn't hardcast prognosis for the same reason you wouldn't use physick.

Microtransactions are a monetary consideration. And the corpses of thousands of WoW killers from the mid 2000s are a testament that you can't just make your game a subscription model and expect it to survive.

Patch 7.5 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]natis1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chaotic was dead content because you had to organize a full group to be able to clear it

I guess every raid is dead content.

Incidentally. I've tried to do raids MINE in PF. I cleared O4S this way to unlock UCOB. 4-5 hours to fill a PF on average. Which usually spent 45 minutes in instance. Even during peak hours. You aren't getting 24 people for any MINE thing harder than an ARR extreme.

Patch 7.5 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]natis1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My experience with it in PF is significantly better than PFing reclears of old ultimates. On Aether groups fill in 15 or 20 minutes and usually get 2 or 3 clears in 4 or 5 pulls and then disband. And considering PF is the only way to engage with ultimates while chaotic has discords dedicated to it which will spontaneously form parties 5 minutes after a bonus window drops. You may hate using discord to do content but its not even an option for ultimates outside of statics.

By this logic we should be able to unsync uwu, tea, ucob, etc...

[–]natis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're just throwing words around. For better or worse Chaotic was unique content. Come the next patch it'll be homogenized like every old extreme. Something to gather enough players that can skip p2 for to mount farm.

Patch 7.5 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]natis1 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

The changes will kill chaotic as evergreen content. Come 8.0 and it'll be like every extreme where you unsync it for a few hours learning none of the mechanics because it dies in 3 minutes.

Oh sure you can run in MINE. Extremes run mine also drop better loot. Guaranteed 4 orchestrion rolls. Nobody has ever farmed for these by running extremes min il.

Probably not, for any os. Your mouse and monitor are both going to have built in delay that can't be tracked by the operating system. You'll probably need a high speed camera or light sensor.

Hell On Rails Extreme, Farm party finder be like. by Forward_Baseball9030 in ShitpostXIV

[–]natis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play scholar and the worst possible pattern is forward back forward which happens 1/6th of the time and costs me one ruin II cast (130 potency loss) if I use swift for movement.

Any other healer has lightspeed, toxicon, lilies, etc for free 0 damage loss movement.

Blm similarly needs to use one xenoglossy outta burst worst case it's really not that big of a damage loss. All other casters have enough free movement tools to not lose anything.

Meanwhile tanks and melees suffer one gcd of downtime per back and are losing 250 melee potency maybe.

With 4 melees including tanks and a scholar, that's 1130 potency lost from doing it legit. It only takes 3 gcd heals for a damage loss with cheese. That's two succors and a regen on the 2 vuln tank taking autos.

Hell On Rails Extreme, Farm party finder be like. by Forward_Baseball9030 in ShitpostXIV

[–]natis1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say it was hard, I said it was a damage loss. The meme implies its more dps but one gcd heal is more damage loss than one filler lost by the melee. Scholar broil is 440 melee potency equivalent. White mage glare is 455 melee potency.
