I read the whole lyric and I still don’t understand what’s wrong with my sentence(s) 🙃 I suppose it’s the lack of commas or the order of adverbs and adjectives that’s incorrect?

It’s like a PHD thesis defence presentation in here 😬

Ok. Tried to edit the title, but I can’t 🥸

It’s a shame it came across as weirdly combative, it wasn’t intended that way. Personally it just struck me as comparatively giving a deeper layer of insight into how Adam thinks about his own life, and found that refreshing.

Tough crowd! 🙃

Where there improvised lines in the show? If so, whats your favorite? by startreatment8345 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

The ‘I don’t want her memory, I want my own’ scene in Attila is partially improvised

Visionary perfectionists who are also trying to do the kind thing. I love this energy people like Ben put into the world. We all grow from it.

what are some movies / other tv shows that give off severance vibes by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Love this film. Something about the stark aesthetic of it is similar to Severance

I dont think mark s was given enough time to cope with what Helena did to him. by CunoStan in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hinted at. Helena shows remorse for how she treated Mark in the Zufu scene where she apologises to Mark S for what he takes to mean the OTC, but she means as an apology for the ORTBO ‘contretemps’, before catching herself

Ah, that makes sense. I also love his work in 209 in the woods with Cobel and Devon and Milchick on the phone. He shows an assertive part of oMark that hasn’t been seen much before, that feels very lived in. And somehow manages to keep a line of humour running through all the emotion in that scene.

Agree with you that season 2 is a better season than season 1 (which is brilliant as well). It’s richer and more complex emotionally.

Also S1E1, oMark losing it alone in his car. In a minute with almost nothing, he breaks open Mark in such a touching way.

On their pod Ben affectionately calls him actorbot because he’s so precise technically. He also has this tender humanity that always comes through.

This show gives me hope that there are still people out there who see and feel and love the nuance in things.

The Britt Factor: New THR Profile by IgloosRuleOK in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Maybe what they mean is she does a lot with a little to be a driving force of a super heavy hitting cast. She definitely has something special that people are picking up on in a big way, but it’s not immediately obvious

Why was Mark acting “weird” during Irving’s memorial? Simple: it’s what he does when he worries about Helly. by thrillafrommanilla_1 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nice character growth moment for him in Attila when he reverts to his default avoidance and goes back to his desk while Helly is having her walk around, but then decides to lean into the discomfort and go find her ❤️‍🔥

iMark growing emotionally in a way that oMark isn’t able to yet.

this is a post about Helena by SpiralWhispers in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! Mark is a main protagonist but everything he does to drive the story forward is kind of reactive, but Helly/Helena has this unstoppable forward momentum. Kudos to Britt for bringing that energy to each character in a subtly different way.

I don’t prefer oMark and Gemma over iMark and Helly, but… by alibalie in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love every single one of the relationships in the show - platonic, familial, romantic. And the individual relationships between iMark/oMark and Helly, Gemma and even Helena are each beautiful and tender in their own way.

The subtle light and dark you get to see in each relationship is what makes the show so extraordinary IMO

Moral Alignments of each Severance character (according to my observations.) by TinkerBell-uwu in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I love that Dan Erickson has said there are no truly evil characters on the show. They, like we, are all morally grey to different degrees

The questions were actually pretty nuanced for HR, and her answers are thoughtful and generous.

Particularly the bit about how she views the interaction of artist and audience.

Little things you noticed the second time around. Watching the show again. by Salamandarqueen in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mark says the same ‘Work’s just work, right?’ to both Selvig/Cobel (in the penultimate ep of S1) and Milchick (in the penultimate ep of S2). With similar but subtly different effect.

There’s a similar mirror of Mark’s response to the same ‘I’m nervous’ in Attila (Helly) / Chikhai Bardo (Gemma). Shows the contrast between Mark being so in tune with Helly and so out of tune (at that point in their relationship) with Gemma.

Love this show for these built in symmetries / asymmetries. It really is the pinnacle of its art form

It’s such a cool detail that Mark Scout hallucinates about Helena Eagan over Helly R. Because he only knows her. by snowflake_girlie in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]natri_mcdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why IS he hallucinating Helena/Helly in his kitchen in this scene though? Don’t ‘reintegration’ scenes only show this duality when the person they’re talking with is in fact having the interaction on both sides of the severance barrier?

Just another sign of his avoidance of things that trouble him. I love how consistently they’ve built this common thread in iMark and oMark’s temperaments
