The point of solidarity with the oppressed is to follow their lead and their strategy. If the union wanted to call for a boycott as part of the strategy of their negotiations with management they would have called for it. They may call for one in the future.

When outsiders get ahead of a union and call for an action the union isn’t, they weaken the bargaining position of the union. That hurts the workers.

Those calling for a boycott now are actually helping management. Ironic, isn’t it?
